I decided to put a slightly different twist on this theme. I love that other people have picked up on it. I feel trendy and hip.
So, I have a whole playlist on iTunes called "Where in the world is..." where all the song titles reference real world locations.

I used to find Tom Wait's voice vaguely frightening, but it's grown on me. The fact that this song, from a hooker to a former client of hers, is sung by a man lolarious.

I love this song because it's sound is so wonderfully....Midwestern. We're a strange people - proud, stubborn even, but hopelessly polite and obliging. We also have dozens of recipes for bar cookies.

I'd leave to find the answer on the road
I have little to no idea what this song is actually about or what it has to to with Philadelphia, but it's just so darn catchy.

Wholly Unnecessary Story Time: About a year ago I had to break up with my boyfriend because I was moving so far away and he has long outstanding issues about long-distance relationships. My room mate had our favorite band's music playing while my things were being loaded up. When it came time for my boyfriend to leave, this song was playing. Last December, he changed his mind and we've been managing well these past few months. I'll be glad when I can be back in the same city as him, though.

I love this show and wish it was still on today. I'm a student teacher of a 9th grade world history class. Trust me, these kids need it. Revel in the very recently post-Cold War geography!
