Netherland's Scarf. Am I doing this right?

Hello~ I'm knitting a my first scarf for Netherlands (from Hetalia) for my brother and I'm having a mini crisis with the outcome of my rows.

First of all, as background, I'm knitting it vertically, for one. But this way I only have to switch colors four times instead of a billion. XD These are my dimensions:

5 stripes; blue, white, blue, white, blue. 294 stitches per row (7 ft). 8 rows per stripe.

I'm using 2, 19", size 9 circulars and garter stitching. The yarn is Vanna's Choice.

So. The reason I'm freaking out is because I just finished what I assumed to be 8 rows on my second color (white), but the yarn finished on the other side. Here are some pictures to illustrate:

So can anyone tell me if I have indeed stitched 8 rows of each? Is it normal for the yarn to end on a different end? I'm I freaking out over nothing?? HELP.

A questionnaire and some crafts to share

Hi everyone,
I'm a lurker, crafter, and graduate student studying fandom crafting for my masters thesis, and I'm doing a short informal questionnaire about fan craft over at my journal. If anyone happens to be interested and wants to answer a few questions, I'd really appreciate it!

Some of my recent projects.

A second attempt at a Sherlock Holmes cameo. I made the first out of super sculpy, and this one out of black and pearl fimo. I'm still not super pleased with this, but I haven't had a chance to make another yet. It's pictured on some knit up handspun that was supposed to be caliometry from knitty, but ended up being too big for me.

A WIP fingerless glove from this pattern by Jennifer Amey. Inspired by Amy Pond and knit in TARDIS blue (actually knitpicks essential kettle dyed in Jay)

I've not had a chance to knit the last bit of cuff or the thumb yet, but I think I like how it's coming out.

This is what happens when someone jokingly tells me a should knit something, haha, i give it a shot. Just kind of sat down, popped in "Beauty and the Beast", and made him up as i went along. I'm very pleased with how it turned out :-D

Yeah, so I had this fantastic idea for a really simple knitted shoulder bag that could easily be adapted to suit different awesome designs. It's basically just a double-knitted rectangle folded in three. The side panels and handle are knitted separately and then sewn into place. This was the first one I made:

Hi! I just joined today and thought I'd introduce myself. I am a great big geek with a ton of fandoms. I recently (a few weeks ago) taught myself how to knit. Once I get my current non-geeky project done, I'm throwing myself into geeky knitting. I've got some Doctor Who inspired projects I'd like to do. Plus Jayne's hat and Mark's scarf from Rent.

There is one thing I would like to ask you. I'm working on starting up a craft blog for myself and can't think of a good title. Right now all I can think of is The Crafty Geek. I want to use something more clever than that, but the little gray cells aren't helping me out. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to check out my profile to get an idea of my geekdoms. ;) It's a long list and I don't want to bore you. TIA!

I'm in a bit of a crisis... I fell in love with a hat but I'm too new to knitting to figure out the pattern. I really want to knit this hat because I love Emma and I LOOOOOOOVE Glee. If you can help, I'd be your humble servant.

Hi, guys! I'm new in these parts, but I've got a question for all of y'all.

My friend's got a birthday coming up (and there's always Hannukah after that, lol!) and she's a HUGE fan of Final Fantasy: VII. She also loves fiber craft, but hasn't the patience to make it for herself.

So here's my question: has anyone got a pattern for something FFVII? I'm not a very talented knitter--my skill set is kinda all over the place. I can read (and mostly follow) patterns, and I've mastered "basic" knitting skills, but I'm not yet capable of intarsia, cabling, or anything involving more than 4 needles.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

Which size?

I got some yarn as a gift, and I think it's enough to make the beret from the Charmed Knits book. I'm not sure which size to do, though. My head is 23". For the pattern, M is 21 1/4" and L is 24". Should I go small and assume it'll stretch, or large because it won't? (Assuming I have the needles and skills to do this project, anyway...) This is my first time making a hat, so we'll see how it goes.

Help please!

I am more than 2/3 of the way through a very long and labor-intensive commission (I've been working on it for almost three years now). I'm working with knitpicks panache and stash ran out- I need about 3 more skiens of cloud and one more skien of coal. I went to go order more, but knitpicks has discontinued it.

Does anyone have ANY knitpicks panache in cloud and or coal that they can sell me? I'm totally willing to pay for shipping, the amount you paid for it, and a "you have helped me out beyond belief" fee.

If no one has it, does anyone have any knowledge about what I could buy at my LYS or online that would be good enough to sub for the rest of this project?

I promise that I normally buy all the yarn I need ahead of time, but this was a designed commission and I had no idea I'd need as much as I do.
