Dear LJ users,

What is it lately with everyone using layouts that have white backgrounds with light colored, tiny text? And it doesn't help me at all when your custom highlight colors are a white background and a lighter shade of the text color! Oh, and then making links white upon hovering... not cute. My eyes hurt from trying to read your posts. :\

The last 5 graphic journals I tried looking through were all like this. Do you want me to see your stuff or what?!

I hate this trend of having to DOWNLOAD css for layouts. I guess it's because the maker wants to know how many people are using it, but if you just want to see if a layout looks good on your journal you don't necessarily want to have to download something right? Idk. I hate it.

So I made a layout. Tested it in IE and FF and both worked fine. Now I have some people telling me the header isn't showing. And they all use FF. But how can I see it when they can't?

And then I feel stupid because I can't help them

My rant is simple. You make really pretty layouts. They're not unique, per se, but they are aesthetically pleasing. But every layout looks the same. Honestly, there's hardly any variation. You change the colors, but it's usually the same top-bar, centered entry, with floating userpic layout every time. I'd just really like to see some variation from you.

You make layouts. Great. But if people have any questions they need to ask at a layout help community because you won't help them. What's the point then of making them then?

And I hate it when I stumble upon a community only to found out there is no link to the userinfo on the layout. Or any links.

I love tags. You could even say I'm a tiny bit obsessed with tags. And yes, I am one of those people who, even though there is only one icon with a child on it on the whole batch, will create and attach an appropriate tag.

Then why, why, why... is it so hard to find a nice layout with a 'tag me' link right there on the recent entries page? I'd like to be able to tag icon posts without having to click on the comment link first, you know.

Dear Santa, for Christmas, a nice, simple, clean layout with a sidebar for the tags list and a 'tag me' link on the recent entries page. Thank you.

So layout contest. I enter voting begins. People can also leave reactions.

#1 I didn't vote for 3 because I didn't like the positioning of the members.
#2 3 is too similar to the current one in terms of theme/atmosphere.

And with #2. The layouts of the two other people (just the layouts without the header) looked the same like the current one. But the fact that my header used the same photoshoot as the current header was much worse.

And I don't need to win. But the reasons why not annoyed me.

So uh... you hardly ever change the colors of your layouts (all the same every single time, well okay sometimes dark, sometimes light background), you move the userpic from right to left, maybe change the size of it... sometimes with and sometimes without sidebar/topbar. And then you post each of these creative thingies as a NEW LAYOUT??? Srsly? And people keep memming your entries... I say you need to mem one entry and you know them all. -.-

Nice that you can edit your own CSS Code but no need to post every single bit you change as a new layout. *headdesk*
