Hellos, I've been searching for a good community that is alive to rant my sweet nothings too. Most of you seem fun, so lets rant and dance and eat bananas together. My names Julie, I'll be 18 this April and finally able to get all the piecings and tattoos I've been wanting ^_^ I live in Oregon, I live out in the country outside of a small little town, but I volenteer at a thrift store thats next to everything. I'm sorta happy hippy/emo goth depending on my mood, prozac helps that a bit. Being an Aries I mostly just get irritated and angsty. I'm not one of the cool kids, but I stand for what I beleive in and I do my own thing, so as long as I'm happy with my self Identity its cool enough for me. I like rock like Linkin park and Manson, but then I also like some 70's stuff like heart and Janice joplin. My secret music likings are j-pop and tenchno. I read lots of fantasy, so my favorite childrens fantasy books are all by Garth Nix. I've been wanting to read the original Alice in wonderland though. I also like knitting, watching anime, and dancing to music and ranting on lj. So hopefully you'll get to hear my rant on my dull dramatic little life. laters ^_^

I know we all get those nights where we toss and turn and can't sleep. Or sit around and worry about the future and a thousand things that have gone wrong in the day, in your life. Sometimes we just need a voice to talk to, someone who won't judge us or condemn us for our thoughts, but open thier hearts to your pain or loneliness or just desire to have another person listening. I remember wanting to be listened to, to not have an earful of criticisms inflicted on. To just speak and have someone tell me they understand. And offer advice when I wanted it, not when all I needed was to vent.

Hey. I thought I'd step up and introduce myself.

I figured it'd be good to join here because, well, I sort of feel not so cool. I'm 33 and I make $8.50 an hour, and I've still got acne. I'm into art but not good enough to call myself an artist, I don't think. I managed to get a couple of years of art school under my belt before I dropped out. I'm an art school dropout. Not cool. I don't have a single friend right now that I can talk to face to face. The few I have are all online and doing better than me in every regard. I was uncool in high school, but not geeky enough to fit in with the geeks, and not uncool enough to get much attention from anybody, really...so in other words, I was invisible. I'm still invisible. I guess I should be grateful, since being invisible, no one can see my acne. LOL. I guess I'm lucky in one regard...I am married to someone who thinks I'm totally and undeniably cool. He's my best friend, and basically the only thing that makes life worth living at this point.

I like reading, but nothing really cool or cutting edge...let's see...Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Anne Rule, all books about serial killers, faery books, conspiracy books, that sort of thing. As for music, well, there's Tori Amos, Tom Waites, lots of old 80s one-hit wonders, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, and some obscure local bands from one of the towns I used to live in...one is called hopeforagoldensummer and one is called Guff.

As you can see, I'm pretty boring, which is totally uncool. I don't own a cellphone or an i-freaking-pod.

I only have this computer because my mother bought it for me (out of pity).

Ok, I'm beginning to make myself sick. ;) So I thought it'd be nice to be part of a community that doesn't think too much of itself. I'm rebellious and obnoxious and brutally honest and tactless. Maybe I can get away with that here. Nice to meet you all.

Mostly though - I'm not so cool because I don't have a huge amount of mates and the mates that I do have I hardly ever see because of my university studies and my heavy commitment to sport. So I don't get to go out or party or hang out much...
