Hi, all.

Is anyone familiar with the Saskatoon Doll Club (maybe it's the Saskatoon Doll Collectors Club)? Googled both phrases, got nothing but links to kijii and newspaper articles. TIA.

Phone for sale

Huh, I was the last person to post here as well.
I have moved, found a place on Avenue C near 33rd. Unfortunately, my phone, which I love, is less than a year into a three year plan with Rogers, and it will cost an exorbitant amount to cancel it. My job has me driving out of the city a lot, so I really need a phone with better rural coverage.
So, if anyone is looking for a phone, or knows someone who is, I have a great deal. You can take over my phone and contract for the low low price of $0 Here's what you get:

Samsung Focus phone, in near perfect condition, with a Zagg Invisishield screen protector installed.
LG Optimus tablet, barely used, with Zagg Invisishield screen protector installed
Charging cables for both

Current plan is $86/month, which includes 1 gig between both devices, MY10 Canada wide talk and text, unlimited texting, unlimited evenings and weekends, 200 daytime minutes, and a bunch of stuff I never use. You can change the plan however you want once you have it in your name.

Contact me here, or by email at lynne.cheryl@gmail.com

Where to live

Hi, My boyfriend has just gotten a job in Saskatoon, and we are not really familiar with the city. He ill be working near the airport, but will have a car, so he can commute, but if bussing is an option he would prefer that. We've heard that the rental market is similar to the one here in Winnipeg, in that there is a super low vacancy rate, so good places go quickly. Does anyone have any suggestions on places to live? Neighbourhoods or rental agencies to look for or avoid? He will be going out there within the next few weeks, and doesn't ant to spend a lot of time in a hotel.

Airport and bus questions!

Hey everyone!

I will be travelling to Saskatoon for the first time this Friday. I will be taking the greyhound from Lloydminster at 4:55 pm... to line up with my flight at 7:00 am the next morning...which means I will have a ton of time to kill! A smart person would get a room for the night, but I don't trust myself to sleep for a couple hours without missing my flight. So, my first question is does the airport allow people to stay there overnight? And is there anything to do in or around the airport overnight?

Next question is bus related. I have to work on Friday, and am really worried the greyhound will fill up, because its a Friday afternoon before Christmas. Anyone have any experience with this happening, and what the station does in that case? If they make me wait until the next bus (3am) I will miss my flight.

Thanks for any help or advice, and I look forward to visiting Saskatoon for the first time, even if its short and at night!

Vet recommendations?

I'm looking for a new vet for my three cats. We used to take them to Martensville and while I absolutely loved the staff, I found the drive to be too stressful for them, especially the older cats. We're currently at Westward Animal Hospital, but they just can't seem to help one of the older cats with a recurring problem, so I'd like to get a second opinion (preferably not within the Animal Care Group). Recommendations, and extra points for vets that have possibly found mystery illnesses in cats before?

I know that Market Mall does this (or at least, used to!), but I'm wondering about Centre and Midtown. I'm doubting that Midtown has any mall-wide discount for employees, but I was hoping you guys would have more info.

If you or anyone you know has worked in the malls, I'd love to hear what you know!
I'm passing the word on about this because I haven't heard anything about it here in Saskatchewan and I really want to see one of these come home here! I want to see one in person so badly!

--

Here's the scoop.

* Sign up for the contest @ hypercube.ca
* Nissan will email you with some info, to start off it's really just them updating a Twitter. That's all to start with.
* Check back often on their twitter page... Share links you think are cool, leave comments, whatever. Get yourself noticed.
* 500 of the most unique contestants will be given their own cube webpage to fill with the coolest things they can think of! Show the world what makes you unique. Post pictures, videos, stories, etc.
* At the end of the contest period, there will be a voting process. Tell everyone you know about it, go public, hang posters all over town, sing it from a mountain, whatevs. Get as many votes as you can.
* 50 of the most unique/cool people will get a fricken car.

Anyway, how awesome is that? You get to show everyone how awesome you are and then you win a car. It sounds kinda funny but whatever. Worst-case scenario you don't get a car -- Best case scenario you win a car.

--

If you enter, join the Saskatchewan group on facebook here? It seems like so far everyone's making individual groups -- I'm hoping a joint group for our province will help spread the word better!

And if you want to know more about the cube itself/think it's awesome, Check out the only Livejournal community dedicated to it; nissancube

Visiting the Skatch.

So it's winter, I've been bored. My boyfriend is switching jobs. He has some time off. Yadda yadda.

We live in Winnipeg, and we're going to Saskatoon for the weekend (March 5-8). He's from a town near there, so we'll be staying with his family. I've never been to Saskatoon proper, so what I need are fun things to do in Saskatoon. I've heard it's the hipper of the two Saskatchewanesian towns. We're going to see a band at Lydia's on Saturday night, and will likely drink with his siblings for the night times.

Winnipeg has its little charmingly awesome places to eat or hang out. What are Saskatoon's? Anything I *should* do while I'm there? Daytime things, mainly. I think we have nights covered. I know it's a smallish town, but character goes a long way.

Best breakfast? Etc.

So, anyone know any good family doctors taking new patients? Or a walk-in clinic that will actually prescribe me more than two months of pills at a time? Alas, I'm done with driving back to PA just to see my family doctor for prescription renewals.

Thanks y'all!

Shaving?

Do you guys know if any place in Saskatoon does professional men's shaving? I'm looking for a place that shaves preferably with straight razors, but any place would do!

I've checked a lot of websites, but only Changes Hair does it. Anyone been there for spa-type treatments?

Thanks!

Looking for:

I'm currently looking for a couple of random items: Chocolate molds and a picture cube.

I looked at Micheal's, which normally has chocolate molds, but I guess they got put away to make room for other items. I don't know where else to look for these. Used ones would be great too, there's got to be some of these lying around not being used anymore.

I need a photo cube for a project at school. I don't want anything expensive. I can't even think of any stores I have seen them at lately. Used would also be great too.

Let me know if you have seen these items in a store somewhere, or if you have these items and want to part with them!
