Some things can't be automated, you need to have a trained, experienced professional doing it. I've always said that Road Safety should be one of those things.

Automated cameras can only detect pre-programmed quantitave data, whereas dangerous driving is not something that can be quantified.

I wish I'd discovered this page a week ago. I hope it's still there next year.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind celebrating it (when I have someone to celebrate it with), but the idea that on this particular day in February the only way to show you love someone is to buy chocolates and flowers, both of which seem to become so much more expensive at the time.

There's something so practiced and rehearsed and cliched about giving flowers/chocolates/naughty underwear for Valentines Day. It shows that no thought has gone into it whatsoever, after all, who wants to spend time thinking about what would make your loved one happy? Thank the heavens the greeting card companies tell us what presents to give (why does one have to give presents to show love?) and allow us to buy pieces of card with generic sweet words already printed on them! Now, I'm certainly no authority on the subject, but even I know that romance isn't formulaic. A romantic gesture (at this or any other time of year) shouldn't be something that feels like you're going through the motions of it, it should be unique, it should be specifically for that special person (or persons), not just a re-hash of the same old tricks that worked with others in the past.

Anyway, this was intended just to be a quick link to the funny page, but it's turned into a full-on rant, so I apologise for that.
