I love that it’s natural, can be used around eyes, on lips, in hair, face and body, lasts a long time, the smell is kinda weird but it goes away after you rub it in, can be used on sensitive, irritated skin and won’t clog pores ( I have rosacea, acne and eczema. It is a great shaving cream, is a AMAZING MULTITASKER! Improves skin’s appearance instantly. Can be used to make lip balms and cosmetics. Melt it with heat and add to bath for a moisturizer. Create a personalized skin cream to use as a gift. What I did was soften up the Shea butter using the jar inside a pan of boiling water. Once I did that I poured it into ice cube trays that were shaped like seashells, and I added some of my favorite essential oils, such as Bergamont, Frankensons and a mask combination that I found online and wrapped it in really cute mini plastic bags with ribbon gave them out as lotion bars and my friends went crazy! Yes, it was a ton of work and I probably won’t do it again but boy that was a fun gift to give out and it literally was under $50 for me to give 60 of them to my friends. Mother to rub in your body. It comes in a hard form and in order to rub it into your body you need to soften it up what I usually do is just heat the container up with the cap on with my blow dryer and soften it up that way, and then use the liquefied Shea butter on my body or if I’m in the mood to work my arms out lol. I will rub it on without heating it up it takes time to just rub it into your body, but what I’ve noticed is that it’s the only product that works on my extremely dry, flaky calves and nothing else does. I have used Saravi. I have used Urin , I have used AmLactin Nivia cocoa butter Jurgens you could buy two houses with the amount of moisturizer that I’ve purchased in the last year to fix my skin and for some reason this one gets rid of my yucky feeling dry calves. I want to say the smell is odd, so be prepared however it does fade very quickly and , it literally lasts for two days if I don’t really scrub it off. So for me, it’s a five star.

Do NOT be put off by the strong odor of Plant Therapy's Shea Butter. Many have made reviews stating how bad it smells. I'm assuming it's the natural odor of unadulterated fresh shea butter (extremely strong stench when I opened it). Started to return it because I thought it was bad but decided to leave the top off, to air out for a day. The strong odor (stench) began to fade. The smoothness made me air it out some more. I then decided to keep it. Glad I did. I melted it in a double boiler (you can also put water in a smaller pot/pan (on low heat) & place a larger empty pot/pan on top of that. Scoop shea butter in the top empty pan (I used only a portion of the shea butter first, to test). Once melted, I blended in my favorite mixes of Essential Oils, stirred, cooled down and poured into a jar, thus creating my own body butter. When I put on my face, I get a lovely dewy skin. Normally, my skin is dry. It may be different for those w/ oily skin. People tell me what beautiful skin I have.

My skin looks like that dewy skin I see the celebrities have. I've tried all kinds of lubricants looking for this dewy appearance and finally found it in this Shea Butter. A little goes a long way. So glad I decided to keep it. Once I closed the top of the remaining unused butter and opened it again, there is that strange odor but it doesn't bother me now and it's not as strong as when I first opened it, though still a bit strange smelling I love what the product does for my skin.

I needed to find an organic and unrefined shea butter. I planned on using it on a wiggly baby who hates lotion being put on, so I thought I needed to find a whipped butter to put it on faster..but those have more than 1 ingredient. It took me weeks and finally I bought this product and it exceeded my expectations. Its USDA organic, unrefined and raw. No added ingredients or fragrance..just shea butter. Naturally I thought it would be hard and smelly but it easily spreads since melts in your hand and it smells like..shea butter just not as strong as the yellow ones that you’ll find at beauty supply stores or that “textured hair” section at target iykyk. Highly recommend !

Got this and didn't know what to expect from raw shea butter. It smelled strange, almost off but thought may be that's just how raw shea butter is. Didn't need to use it right away and waited a month to start using it. When me and my daughter did, we both got a really bad rash and that's when I understood this was definitely bad. It wasn't smooth at all. That should have alerted me to not use it in the first place. Hope it doesn't happen to anyone else!

Bought this Shea butter for use in my body butter. I live in Texas so waited until we had our cold front to order so it wouldn’t melt. However wherever this was stored I am wondering if that’s exactly what happened. When I received the product the seal appeared intact and when I opened it the spoon was on the inner lid but I could see dried butter on the edges and when I fully opened it I saw this. It doesn’t smell horrible but the smell is different then some other sheas I have bought. I was looking to see if maybe it was expired but the little yellow date on the side was illegible like maybe it was rubbed off. I will try it in a small batch to see if it bothers my skin.

This is absolutely the best Shea Butter I have ever used, and I have been using Shea butter for 20 years!

This butter is AAA high quality, truly light ivory in color, it is smooth, and melts in your hands when you vigorously rub your hands together. This is not gritty at all. It is truly "Pure, Raw, and Unrefined. It has a very faint smell that is typical in good quality Shea Butter. It does not have that nasty strong ash tray smell. The packaging is superb too, contained in a strong tub with screw on lid, and a little scooper!

I have found that for some reason many sellers are selling poor quality Shea Butter, and good quality has been getting harder for me to find. Do not hesitate to purchase this lovely product.

I use this to make my own lotion. It doesn’t irritate my skin, has smooth application and is easy to use in recipes.
