  Basic polarized sunglasses

  These two travel gear sunglasses are very basic. But they do seem to be manufactured to a high standard. They do have reinforced metal hinges, and operating them open and closed several times tells me they’re not cheap. They feel high quality.

  They do have a nonslip nose pad, and the temples also have the same nonslip tips to help the glasses stay where you want them, instead of constantly having to grab them and adjust them all day.

  They are polarized, and I live on a small lake so that I can test the polarization. Yesterday, while fishing, I will report that they do a pretty good job of reducing the glare on the water’s surface, which, if you fish, you know is important. I do have other glasses that do a better job. So, I’m going to deduct one star because they claim 99.99% UVB and reduce glare with polarized lenses, but I feel they’re more like 80% when it comes to glare off the lake, and I did AB them with another pair of glasses I own.

  I do like the classic look of the frames; they remind me of Wayfair’s, and will look good if you want to wear them in casual settings. They are extremely lightweight, which nowadays makes it feel like all glasses are feather-light, which is great. I didn’t notice any distortion in the lenses. They come with a nice little slip-in bag, which is acceptable compared to an actual case.

  Overall, I’m happy with these glasses, especially for the price compared to the high-end, trendy, brand-name ones. So if you’re looking for a basic polarized/UV sunglasses, give these a try.

  TravelGear Polarized Sunglasses --- Nice economy sunglasses... better than cheaper alternatives

  As economy sunglasses go, these are nice looking, well made, stylish and comfortable. The lenses are tinted just right for comfortable sight in both bright direct sunlight and lower intensity daylight. The black plastic frames are shiny, with reasonably durable hinges and decorative, bright silver accents. The overall appearance is similar to more expensive sunglasses, and unlike many other economy sunglasses, these don't have any tacky no-name 'brands' or logos that are visible when they're worn.

  The frames flex slightly at the nose bridge and fit comfortably, with minimal pressure on the sides of my head when I wear them. The lenses are polarized (I tested them using a polarized image test card to verify this), and according to the seller's product listing they provide "UV400 ultraviolet protection" to "... block 99.99% of harmful UVA and UVB... protecting your eyes against long-term UV damage." These sunglasses are marked "Polarized - 100% UV Protection - CAT.3" which indicates that they filter 82–92% of visible light and 100% of UVA/UVB rays (UV400), although I have no way to test this.

  I like these sunglasses. They're nice looking, fit and feel great, and if as advertised, they protect my eyes. A soft (polyester?) drawstring storage bag is included, along with a medium-heavy ("gift") box (a clam-shell storage box would have been much nicer). So, that's all the good news... now the potentially bad news...

  Comparing these sunglasses to others I've purchased on Amazon, along with others I haven't purchased but I have looked at, it's clear that extremely similar (with 'matte', not 'glossy' frames) sunglasses are available from other sources at much lower prices. The price of these sunglasses is $12.99 for ONE pair (at the time of this review), but there are many other similar sunglasses available for as low as $9.99 for THREE pairs (available in black or assorted colors).

  Normally, I'd deduct one star because of the availability of similar products at a much lower price, but in this instance because I really like the 'glossy' finish of these sunglasses so much better than the 'matte' finish of the lower priced alternative (that I actually own), I don't feel as though it's a direct comparison, so I'm giving these sunglasses the full five stars.

  Are you looking for a dark pair of sunglasses, that aren't fancy, match everything, easy to stash in your car, and sit fitted to your head and face, as well as comfortable, and durable? This is your pair of sunglasses, order them now. I have blue eyes, the tiniest bit of sunlight burns my eyeballs, these sunglasses truly help. I also suffer from migraines, but unfortunately I'm an adult who must still me productive. These sunglasses are comfortable they don't squeeze my head when I put them on, they block out a lot of sunlight, easing the pain the light causes. I have had them for a short amount of time but have dropped them, stuffed them in my purse, and accidentally fling them across my kitchen and they are pretty dang durable as they have held up through all of it. I am extremely rough on sunglasses. These are versatile, they work for any outfit and really any job, going running? They stay out and don't slide when they are sweaty, driving down the road, they stay in place block the sunlight, mowing grass they actually keep grass from getting in your eyes. These one hundred percent are a great value for the money. I have six pairs of sunglasses and these are the top pick in my stash.

  I originally picked these up for my son, who seems to lose sunglasses almost as often as I lose my car keys. However, after they arrived and I tried them on, I may end up keeping them myself.

  These sunglasses have a classic, slightly nostalgic feel that reminds me of the styles I wore back in the 1980s. The frames are lightweight and comfortable, and the dark lenses provide good everyday sun protection without being overly dark.

  The polarization works, but it’s not the strongest I’ve experienced. It helps reduce glare, but doesn’t perform quite as well as some of my higher-end polarized sunglasses. That said, they still do the job for driving, errands, and general outdoor use.

  I ordered these trendy TravelGear polarized sunglasses to wear while driving and at the pool to reduce the glare, and to benefit from their UV protection.
