Best Sensitivity Poems
Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2024Any Pascual uses poetry to express her youthful emotions, moods and thoughts. I like how her poetry has a certain warmth. She loves her mother and expresses love for her granparents. It shows emotional intelligence to be able to understand the dynamics, the mood changes of youth and the beautiful haikus leave you thinking.
The poems have a unique flow. Each topic deep dives into the daily feelings of self doubt, transforming from a child into adulthood, the hardhips and love that she experince are insightful to what other teens may be feeling too. Each poem is highly relatable. Though we are all different and traveling our own pathways of life, we all have a common need to be heard and to be understood.
The poetry is dramatic, heart felt and honest. The journey is enlightening. It brings awareness to the way you make people feel is reflective, and taking more care to ensure the things that we say and do are thoughtful and kind. This is definitely a great read.

Beautiful, Fearless, Honest, Thought Provoking
Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2024I absolutely loved this book! I was enthralled immediately. I could not put it down. Not only did this book take me on a journey into the inner world of the author, but it also gave me deep insight and acceptance of myself as a highly sensitive person. I didn't even know this term existed. Now I know I have a tribe of people from all over the world that are deeply feeling and highly sensitive. I will come back to this book again and again. I highly recommend it!

Oozing with beautiful prose and emotion
Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2024Not in a braggadocious way, but I have read a lot of poetry in my days walking this planet. I welcomed it into my life as a teen, I studied it in college, and I've used it as a safety vessel for most of my adult life. I can honestly say that what I read in Any Pasqual's "Sensitivity" was some of the best poetry I've read in a while. Any's vision and use of words is second to none. I truly felt myself back in that college auditorium reading some of the Romantics or cross-legged atop my bed in high school turning pages through classic poems of the greats. Her poetry makes you feel, and that I would say is the theme of this anthology. To feel.
I'd like to talk about a couple of my favorite works here. Starting with "Wind, What I Feel", which absolutely blew me away. I immediately felt like I was in the midst of a classic poem by Keats or Shelley. Any's use of the elements and their playing upon each other gave conflicting imagery but also a sense of unity. It's hard to explain, but I just KNEW that poem was going to touch me on a level that inspired me. Just like the old times!
Another poem that stuck out to me was "If I Could", which hit me so hard, that I had to immediately go back and read it again. And once I finished, I found it and read it once more. I'm not sure if it was the sublime repetition, the soulful, contrasting imagery, or the gut-punch ending, but whatever Any tapped into for this one, she should set up a timeshare there. It melted me and put me back together at the same time. Just simply put, a chef's kiss.
Other personal favorites of mine include a couple of shorter poems like "My Home" and "These Walls Cry Out Your Name". "My Home" felt, to me, like one of the defining poems of the anthology. It summed up an HSP's perspective very well for me. Your home is where you should feel comfortable, and love, memories, and fantasy (stardust) make for a better soul cement than brick and mortar. To quickly describe how "These Walls Cry Out Your Name" made me feel, I would say one name: Emily Dickinson. Ooooh, the feels in this one and the heartache the narrator leaves us in the last few lines simply take you on an emotional journey like no other. It's heavenly and sad in the same quiet breath. Any's longer poems are just as impactful and poignant, but these short ones really packed a punch. "Cycles" reminds me of Robert Frost in its simple structure, but ruthless, primal look at nature's seasons. Finally, I won't analyze it here, but "Silence" is also a short poem with cannonades of power behind each word. Check them all out!
Combining plenty of emotional feelings with the Romantic ideals of the classics, I found myself completely wrapped up in the pieces here. I only touched on a few poems here, but I assure you, the pages are completely dripping with beautiful prose and tangible emotions that just tug your heartstrings into an "annoying symphony". I would 1,000% recommend this book to anyone interested in poetry that touches on topics like all forms of love, brilliant introspection, relationships, and words that inspire and feel. The poems here filled me with remembrances and inspired me to pick up my own pen and find that love of poetry that I used to exude.
5 stars out of 5 for the pristine emotions throughout the art.

ZN5 out of 5 starsBeautiful, honest and raw
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 29, 2024What a beautiful book of poetry this truly is!
I love Any Pascual’s optimistic but honest way of expressing her emotions- using her ‘highly sensitive’ feelings to create stunning poems that will resonate with so many other people too.
Through carefully crafted words and raw emotion, Any bravely pours her heart and soul out - giving us an insight of how she feels about being sensitive- and how she feels about others and life situations . My favourites were ‘ New season’ - loved the beautiful imagery in this, ‘Home’ and ‘Love’- the sentimentality and use of emotional language in these two poems is beautiful!
Such a talented writer and still in her teens!
Watch this space for this young lady! A beautiful and very recommended , heartfelt read!

I had never really heard of a highly sensitive person before, of course I knew that was a thing but I didn't know it was a full thing. Reading more about her journey, I could really connect to a lot of her words. Any's collection feels like a warm hug for those who need it most.
