    From a whiteboard in 2022 to a U.S. patent in 2026 🚀 Katie Civgin, Legal Manager, M&A, received her first Uber patent for Dynamic Pickups, a product designed to make pickups work better in some of the busiest locations. “This patent represents months of collaboration across Ops, Product, and Engineering teams to rethink how technology can improve movement and reduce congestion in complex pickup environments,” she shared.     Last weekend, Uber participated in Tokyo Rainbow Pride (TRP), where we invited participants to share their experiences using Uber and Uber Eats by writing their thoughts on paper and hanging them onto our tree 🌈 Throughout the weekend, it was amazing to watch the tree gradually transform into a rainbow filled with messages, stories, and memories shared by everyone who stopped by.     I’m excited to share that I’ve recently joined Uber as VP of Engineering, Infrastructure. Over the past week, I’ve gotten my first glimpse into the scale, depth, and innovation behind Uber’s infrastructure, and I’ve been genuinely impressed by what the team has built. What has been equally inspiring is seeing how our technology creates meaningful impact for millions of people around the world every day. Being a family of New Yorkers without a car and two busy, school-aged children, Uber is a big part of how we get around each week. It’s been magical to be able to schedule rides, keeping us on time and getting everyone and their stuff to athletics practice, music rehearsal, or even the class birthday party crosstown. Now, I get to work alongside an incredible team to build and support the foundation that powers Uber — enabling more people to earn on their own terms and get to where they need to go. I'm grateful to Praveen Neppalli Naga for the opportunity, and excited for what's ahead! What an incredible first week at Uber!

    I’ve embarked on a US listening tour for Uber Teen Accounts with PTA leaders and parents! First stop was the Washington State PTA Convention, and it was incredibly insightful;  𝟭. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗨𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 - 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁. Drivers accessing teen trips also meet additional experience and rating requirements, and we need to do a better job of helping families understand that.  𝟮. 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿. Allowing parents to share their Uber One benefits with teens has been helpful for savings, but most haven't tried Ride Passes, and still want more support for the daily school commute.   𝟯.     Today, we announced plans to launch Spain’s first commercial robotaxi pilot in the Region of Madrid, marking the first joint market entry in Europe for Uber and WeRide.   As someone who has spent years working to make mobility more accessible across Europe, I’m particularly proud to see Madrid take this important step toward making autonomous mobility a reality. Together with WeRide, and thanks to the regulatory leadership of the Comunidad de Madrid, we’re helping bring this technology from testing grounds to real-world deployment. In Madrid, operations will be supported by AVOMO, Moove’s autonomous vehicle division, with whom we already partner in the US. This announcement also builds on the broader momentum we’re seeing across Europe. In Munich, we recently announced a new robotaxi program with Autobrains Technologies and Nvidia, expanding our growing autonomous mobility ecosystem in the region. Europe is entering a defining moment for autonomous mobility: AVs are beginning to become part of how people move around cities, and 2026 will be a major turning point as Europe moves from pilots to real-world deployment. We’re excited that Madrid and Munich are helping lead the way and proud to play a role in shaping what comes next with all our partners across the region.
