Paying for Fuel or EV Charging

We highly recommend opting in for the Prepaid Refuel to simplify your return.

This is ideal if your schedule won’t allow for refueling the vehicle before drop-off.

To add extras like Prepaid Fuel, go to your reservation in the Turo App before the trip begins.

*Please return it with the same fuel level to avoid a convenience fee + charging cost.

During your trip, please take a photo and upload all fuel receipts to Turo message center or leave all receipts in the middle console of the vehicle.

*The KEY or KEY CARD is located in the 2ND SLOT of the BLACK POUCH.

*Upon return of the vehicle, place the key or keycard back inside the black pouch and place back in the center console, just as it was upon pickup.

*(DO NOT PLACE THE KEY IN THE 1ST SLOT OF THE POUCH). *

*Once everything is complete, kindly send us a message so we can remotely lock the vehicle.



START THE VEHICLE BY:

    * Remove the key/keycard from the black pouch.

    * Gas vehicle: Press the brake pedal, push start button.

    * In Tesla: Place the keycard in front of the center console.

    * Shift into Drive.

Turo Protection Plans


Every trip you book on Turo includes Liability Insurance.

*This covers bodily or property damage to ANOTHER PERSON if you are responsible for an accident that caused the damage.

*Liability Insurance DOES NOT PAY for loss or damage to the vehicle you book on Turo, which is why Turo offers protection plans.

PROTECTION PLANS

*Turo vehicle damage protection plans limits the amount you would have to pay if there is covered physical damage to your Hosts vehicle during your trip.

Although, you don’t need personal insurance to book a trip on Turo. We require proof of insurance to cover potential accidents that may occur during your trip.

If you are at-fault in an accident and you do not have personal auto insurance or Turo Premier or Standard Protection Plan, you may be 100% responsible for all out of pocket cost related to the incident, including:
*Vehicle Repair & Loss of Use
*Business Loss of Income
*Court Cost & Legal Fees
*Bodily Injury
*Property Damage
*Diminished Value, etc.

Trip Photos Guide

✅ STEP 1: VEHICLE EXTERIOR PHOTOS

1. Take clear photos and Selfie with the vehicle visible in the background & upload to “Trip Photos” in the Turo app.

2. After uploading, notify us to confirm the photos was received.

3. Once we’ve verified the exterior images and Selfie with the vehicle, we’ll remotely unlock the vehicle.

✅ STEP 2: INTERIOR VEHICLE PHOTOS
After entering the vehicle, please complete these steps:

1. Locate the remote key or keycard inside the center console.

2. Inspect the interior and take photos of:
   * Clean areas
   * Any pre-existing damage
   * Odometer (mileage)
   * Fuel gauge or battery charge percentage
   * In Tesha, tap the car icon (bottom left on the screen), scroll down to mileage.

3. Upload the interior photos to “Trip Photos” in the Turo app and notify us.

We are unable to unlock or provide access to the vehicle until all required information has been received and fully verified.

1. Turo Pre-Check-In
Upload your selfie, valid driver’s license, and complete all required verification steps directly in the Turo app.

2. Rental & Incidental Form (Click the button below)
Before arrival, review, complete, and submit the required Incidental Form. We are unable to give access or finalize verification until all required documentation has been received and approved. 

3. Check-in Verification Selfie
Upon arrival, submit a clear selfie of yourself standing in front of the vehicle through the Turo app. Once the verification is completed, the vehicle will be remotely unlocked.

✅ To ensure a smooth and timely check-in and avoid delays: Steps 1 and 2 must be completed before you arrive to the pick-up location.

👤 PRIMARY DRIVER POLICY
Only the Primary Driver listed on the reservation may pick up the vehicle. We cannot release the vehicle to anyone else under any circumstances.

✅ VALID PHYSICAL DRIVER'S LICENSE
You must present a valid physical driver’s license at the time of pickup — no digital or paper copies will be accepted.

👥 ADDITIONAL DRIVERS 
If anyone else will be driving during the trip, they must be added to the reservation via Turo before the trip begins. 

This is a free and required step for insurance coverage.

If you are planning to return the vehicle early, running late, or would like to extend your trip, please notify us in advance to avoid any penalties or additional fees.

If there is any possibility of a late return or need more mileage, you must submit a “Trip Change” request through the Turo app before your trip ends. Approval is based on vehicle availability and must be confirmed through the app.

HOW TO REQUEST A TRIP CHANGE:
*Open the Turo app and select your trip

*Tap “Request to change trip” before your scheduled checkout time


ADDITIONAL MILEAGE

If you need additional mileage, we recommend extending your trip by at least one full day to receive additional mileage allowance.


⏰ LATE RETURNS

*1 hour late (unapproved): charged for an extra day. Late fee charges vary.

*Excessive Lateness: over $200 in usage, late, and improper return fees.

**Please return the vehicle to the original pickup location, in the same clean condition, and with a full gas tank or fully charged battery.

Before returning the vehicle, please follow the instructions below: 

1. Clean, vacuum and remove all trash or debris.

2. FOR GAS VEHICLES: Place the gas receipts inside the middle console.

3. Photo showing fuel level (or EV charge), mileage, and any warning lights.

4. Clear photos documenting the car’s interior and exterior condition at drop-off.

5. Place the remote key or keycard back in the 2ND SLOT of the black pouch and place it back inside the center console.

6. Ensure the vehicle is legally parked.

7. Ensure all windows are closed.

8. Remove all personal belongings.

9. Upload all photos directly in the Turo app, then send us a brief message so we can remote lock the vehicle.

**From the North Terminal, take the SkyTrain to the Atlanta Airport West Parking Garage.

**Exit the SkyTrain terminal → take the escalator down → enter the garage.

6. On the web: Under Protection, tap “View car sharing agreement.”

If pulled over, promptly inform us of the traffic stop details. Failure to do so may result in Turo taking appropriate action.

CITATIONS
For Traffic Violations or Parking Citations:
* Notify us immediately.
* Take a photo of the violation and upload it to Turo Trip Photos.
* Pay the ticket promptly to avoid additional charges.

Turo charges include:
* Ticket cost and relevant processing fees.
* A $30 processing fee per ticket.

** Follow road rules, be cautious of Speed Limits, and watch out for Red Light Cameras in Georgia.**

In the event of an accident, follow these steps:

1. DO NOT leave valuables visible inside the unoccupied vehicle.

2. Upload comprehensive details of the incident, relevant documents, and ample photos to "Trip Photos" on Turo.

3. Report the incident to Turo: https://turo.com/resolutions.



Provide the following information:

* Accident, Vehicle Damage, or Theft Location

* Vehicle Info. of all parties involved (Make, Model, VIN #, License Plate)

* Driver License Info. of all parties involved

* Insurance info. of all parties involved

* Contact Info. of Responding Officers, Fire Station, EMT & Hospital

4. View the "Incident Information card".

5. On the app: Tap “Vehicle documents.”

6. On the web: Under Protection, tap “View incident info card (PDF).”


ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
Roadside Assistance, call Turo at (415) 965-4525. Opt-in for roadside assistance.

*Any dashboard warning lights, wiper blade damage, or anything that needs attention, please take a photo and upload it to "Trip Photos" in Turo.

To maintain battery health and avoid potential damage, please keep the battery between 20% and 90% at all times.

✅ Why?

*Keeping the battery between ~20–90% helps protect its long-term capacity.

*Frequently charging to 100% or letting it drop below ~20% regularly can stress the lithium-ion cells and accelerate degradation (meaning the battery could lose range faster over time).

❗NOTE: 

We receive real-time alerts from Tesla if the charge drops below 20% or exceeds 90%. Repeated violations may result in a battery damage fee and additional fees may apply for battery wear and damage.

Finding a Supercharger (on the Tesla screen):

1. Tap the Navigation/Search bar on the touchscreen.

2. Type “Supercharger” or tap the ⚡ (charging icon).

3. Select a nearby location from the list, and the car will guide you there.

Tesla will even route you through Superchargers automatically if you set a long-distance destination.
