OK, hoping some generous soul will help me out here. I've progressed past the snake puzzle, and managed to make it to what looks like the next one (pic), but can't figure out what to do with the puzzle to progress. My last altar save is on the far right of the map so getting back to this point is a chore (after 30+ tries lol).
First thing i do: i drive away Second thing i do: i kill a man without giving him a chance to speak and drive away again Good game, now the third thing i do may be play the game...
Fourth thing i do: think i soft-locked myself on the snakes puzzle and reset Fifth thing i do: understand the hint of the puzzle (hint / rot13: Fanxr=Thneqvna / fgneel rlrq=fgne oybpx yriry), and then get actually soft-locked, actually, i pressed pause and got to return to the last save... time to finish! GG. the next thing i do is getting all snake eyes...
Sixth thing i did: started the game and killed a man, got all snake eyes, forgot the final puzzle and "rejoined an altar", now i understand how the final cutscene works, and that is the last thing i will do :)
Haha you're not supposed to do that! 😄 I'm gonna keep some of this for fun's sake, but I'll change it so that you don't get the ending if you don't have the gem.
Really cool! Reminds me of Montezuma's Revenge on C64 but with good controls. Loved the temporary one-screen lock that wrapped vertical movement, and then unlocked vertical scrolling again. Never seen that before.
good game. I am jsut too stupid to udenrstand what the hints want to tell me and how this relates to circle and line patterns :-( got the first one by sheer luck and trying randoms tuff. but now with the second 2 diarams next to each other, I'm stumbed :-( Like I udnerstand what the levers do and how to use them, I literally just dont know what to draw
okay nevemrind, I am blind as f. I jsut jumped aorudn in the room, nopticed "hey I am right below where I intially got the crystal. and yeah. problem solved.
went back to previous room. yep the answer was there right along, super easy. so yeah, this is waaaay easier than I made it for myself initially...

I would change the command for wall grab to UP instead of using "towards the wall" direction - I'm frequently trying to drop closer to the wall and I end up grabbing the wall. Using UP would fix this.
Main idea is to not punish the player for being a tiny bit off, and actually wanting them to succeed. This game seems nicely put together, but the punishing platforming part is just pushing me away from playing it.
How does stabbing work when you're holding a gem? Is it just way slower? And I can't figure out how to tell where the arrow traps are. They're clear after they shoot, but if there's a way to tell before, changing their sprite after makes it annoyingly difficult to figure out. And tell me when you get saves working.
You can only stab while airborne, not while grounded. The arrow traps are brick tiles with a big circle cut out of them (when they’re loaded they also visibly have the green arrow inside them).

I lied, the third thing i did was jump and kill that man faster, the fourth thing i do will be listening to the man and playing the game

It seems like you cannot jump if you're nearing the end of a platform, you just drop. I would suggest implementing some points mentioned here - these are what made Celeste a super-hit: https://www.maddymakesgames.com/articles/celeste_and_forgiveness/index.html
