BBC World News is an international news television channel. Unlike other BBC channels, it is not available in the United Kingdom. It is not funded by a licence fee. Instead it has advertisements. BBC World News employs more correspondents and reporters than any other news channel.[1]

The channel was launched in 1991.

In March 2024, BBC World News became available as a channel on several free streaming services in the United States.[2]

In June 2025, BBC News launched a new subscription service in the U.S. for unlimited access to articles and the livestream on its website and its mobile app beginning in January 2026.[3][4]
