How To Develop The Moon presents a near-term blueprint for profitable lunar development with a focus on economic sustainability. Until recently, the (literally) astronomical costs associated with space launches rendered the notion of lunar development economically unsustainable. Financially unviable. Politically unadvisable. Practically unthinkable. Activities extending beyond orbit, with the exception of telecommunications, were confined to government-led initiatives, characterized by significant bureaucratic red tape, political uncertainty, and reliance on public funding. This has changed. This book will attempt to describe in as much detail as possible how to develop the Moon profitably.

An impressive work and enjoyable to read

I don't know who the author is, Ian Long, but he clearly knows some stuff. In fact, a LOT of stuff, except apparently how to make a Table of Contents for a Kindle book. But that turned out to be a good thing as I ended up reading the whole thing.

The author presents the subject in straightforward, logical steps. It is well thought out, and there isn't a lot of fluff.

But the author does have a fun style and a good sense of humor.

I picked this up because I literally wanted to learn about manufacturing opportunities on the moon, and the book really helped out. It's not a be-all-end-all reference, but it doesn't pretend to be either.

I highly recommend this, I hope the author writes more books soon.

    Thanks!

I consider myself well versed in aerospace and space flight and I really think that no matter what level of knowledge I had, I would have still loved this book. Ian does such a good job explaining each topic in an entertaining way without sacrificing any of the real science or engineering behind it. It is a truly impressive work and I would continue buying this book over and over if he continues to update it in future editions.

Up to date, detailed and nuanced

This book covers a level of detail that I haven’t heard addressed anywhere else while still managing to be entertaining to read. It’s up to date with new research and covers why many of the commonly discussed solutions to various problems humanity will face on the lunar surface are impractical—and what we should do instead.

Most importantly, the author makes the case that going to and colonizing the moon is economically beneficial and essential to the long term survival and wellbeing of our species and all life on earth.

A superbly written and yet digestible book for space enthusiast and general audiences alike.

The book lays out step by step what the title conveys in an informative and yet often times humorist way. That isn't bogged down by scientific jargon but is still written in a manner that academics and space experts would still find compelling.

In questo libro vengono presentati argomentazioni chiare e precise su come e perché è necessario creare delle industrie sulla Luna. Ottima lettura sia per persone con un interesse vago sul tema ma anche per persone più esperte.
