CODEPINK is a women-led grassroots organization working to end US wars and militarism, support peace and human rights.
About us
CODEPINK is a gender-inclusive, women-led grassroots organization working to end U.S. wars and militarism, support peace and human rights initiatives, and redirect our tax dollars into healthcare, education, green jobs and other life-affirming programs. Founded in fall 2002 as a grassroots effort to prevent the US war on Iraq, we continue to organize for justice for Iraqis and to hold war criminals accountable. We actively oppose the continuing U.S. war in Afghanistan, torture, the detention center at Guantanamo, weaponized and spy drones, the prosecution of whistleblowers, U.S. support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine and repressive regimes. Rooted in a network of local organizers, online supporters and generous donors, with an emphasis on joy and humor, our tactics include satire, street theatre, creative visuals, civil resistance, and directly challenging powerful decision-makers in government and corporations. And of course, wearing pink!

After more than a year in ICE detention, Leqaa Kordia is free but her fight is not over. She still faces the threat of deportation to Israel, where even an immigration judge acknowledged she could face persecution, imprisonment, torture, or worse. Today, Leqaa is using her voice to advocate for the thousands of people still trapped in ICE detention. Her message is simple: freedom is possible when people organize, speak out, and refuse to look away. Free them all.

House Democratic leadership just handed AIPAC darling Debbie Wasserman Schultz a seat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. At a moment when Democratic voters are increasingly rejecting endless war, unconditional support for Israel, and failed sanctions on countries like Cuba and Venezuela, party leaders rewarded one of Congress’s most hawkish voices with a powerful role shaping U.S. foreign policy. What does it say about Democratic leadership when this is who they choose to represent them on foreign affairs?

Today we visited Rep. Katherine Clark’s office to urge her to action for Sama Safi, a Palestinian American student at Birzeit University taken from her home near Ramallah by Israeli soldiers in the middle of the night. Her family still has no answers about where she is, what charges she faces, or whether she’s receiving the daily medication she needs. Sama’s life is at risk. Silence is not an option. FREE SAMA NOW.

This past week, CODEPINK activists delivered petitions to CNN headquarters in DC, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta to demand the network press Secretary Hegseth for answers regarding the bombing of a girls elementary school in Minab, Iran. Hegseth is wholly responsible for war crimes committed during the war on Iran, and thus far he's ignored questions from Congress regarding this bombing. We demand accountability. Put Hegseth on the hot seat!
