The GitLab Transcend Hackathon is live and it’s built around a simple idea: AI is only as good as the context it has. GitLab Orbit is the new context layer for your SDLC! A structured, queryable knowledge graph that helps agents understand code, merge requests, pipelines, deployments, vulnerabilities, and ownership. Two ways to get involved and start building: - Contribute Track: pick up a hackathon-labeled issue, ship a merge request, and contribute directly to GitLab Orbit. - Showcase Track: build an agent, flow, or skill on the GitLab Duo Agent Platform that uses Orbit to solve a real dev problem. Whether you’re beginner dev or seasoned pro, this is a chance to learn how better context changes what AI can do in real software workflows. 💰 $20K in prizes 🗓️ Submissions close June 24, 2026 Link to register and start building in the comments! 👇

Enterprise AI hackathons are scaling quickly. AI-focused internal hackathons grew 83% year over year in 2025, as more companies bring employees together to build with AI. What those teams are building has shifted decisively from exploration to production: agentic tools that automate workflows, triage tickets, and flag compliance issues are now the fastest-growing category in enterprise hackathon submissions. The AI Trends Report 2026 has the data on what's driving that shift. Link in the comments.

What happens when you give thousands of creators access to a powerful, conversational low-code platform? Radical innovation! Proud to announce the conclusion of the Baidu, Inc. Build with MeDo Hackathon! From concept to deployment, the community proved that building sophisticated AI applications using natural language is no longer the future, but right now. Here are the top 3 winners!

In the #GeminiLiveAgentChallenge, we challenged developers to build the next generation of agents that can help you see, hear, speak, and create with Gemini and Google Cloud. The results for projects that truly moved beyond the text box are in. 🏆 And the grand prize winner is…ORION! ORION, or Operating Room Intelligent Orchestration Node, is a voice-directed surgical co-pilot for robotic surgery. Surgeons can speak naturally and instantly receive answers, live data on display, and real-time visual assistance - all without breaking scrub. Halfway through the UiPath AgentHack and builders are answering the question: What does agentic business orchestration actually look like in practice? Agents handling case management, structured process orchestration, real workflows that run without a human in the loop. There's still time to submit! $50,000 in cash prizes. Deadline June 29. Build with UiPath Maestro, Agent Builder, or plug in your coding agent — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI — using UiPath's published skills and CLI extensions. 🔗 Link to register in the comments 👇

🏆 Drone Copilot won Best of Live Agents at the Gemini Live Agent Challenge (11,800+ participants), announced yesterday at Google Cloud Next '26 🎉 Judges' verdict: "A masterclass in real-time interaction and low-latency feedback." Walking on stage in Vegas to present a project I'd built alone in Paris. Surreal. What Drone Copilot does: 🎙️ You talk to it. Mid-flight. "Take off." "What do you see?" "Inspect the box on the left." 👀 It sees through its camera and describes the scene in real time ⚡ It executes tool calls (move, rotate, inspect) autonomously 🗣️ It talks back. Verbally. While flying. Powered by Gemini Live API on Cloud Run. Built solo. Drones were the first case. The same loop works anywhere a human needs eyes and hands somewhere they aren't. Big congrats to ORION on the Grand Prize, and to the other category winners: Sankofa, Moonwalk, Wand, Rayan Memory, JohnKeats.AI. Among the winners, Jeremiah and I were the only ones who made it to Next to present on stage. Big thanks to Google Cloud and Devpost for putting this together, and to everyone from the team I got to meet at Next: Willie, Christina, Ayo, Qingyue(Annie), Stephanie and Dilasha. Coming up over the next two weeks: the most unexpected ways teams at Next are using Gemini to build. One use case per post. ⸻ 🇫🇷 Résumé en français : 🏆 Drone Copilot a gagné Best of Live Agents au Gemini Live Agent Challenge (11 800+ participants), annoncé hier à Google Cloud Next 🎉 Construit en solo. Gemini Live API + Cloud Run. #GeminiLiveAgentChallenge #GeminiLive #GoogleCloud #GoogleCloudNext #GoogleDeepMind #MultimodalAI #ADK #CloudRun #Drone #Robotics #VoiceAI #BuildingInPublic
