Making Healthcare Make Sense By Restoring Price Signals, Accountability, and Choice

About us

Healthcare is the largest consumer market in the U.S. that does not function like a market. Prices are hidden. Incentives are misaligned. Competition between and among health plans and health systems is limited, preventing the market from rewarding value and efficiency. Without transparent pricing and aligned incentives, all stakeholders, including employers, members, and care organizations, struggle to obtain value. TALON exists to restore the conditions required for a high-functioning healthcare market. We make price transparency actionable by pairing real, negotiated prices with aligned incentives, governance frameworks, and infrastructure that enables informed decision-making. Our platform is underpinned by large-scale pricing intelligence, including a proprietary database built from over 25 billion de-identified claims records and more than one petabyte of healthcare pricing data, ingested and curated monthly to support analytics, transparency, and incentives. TALON supports health plans, third-party administrators, and benefits advisors serving employer-sponsored plans nationwide, enabling: • Practical execution of Transparency in Coverage and No Surprises Act requirements • Alternative health plan designs built around discoverable pricing and consumer choice • Shared-savings incentives that align employers and employees • Analytics that expose cost variation and network inefficiencies TALON has been recognized for sustained growth and market impact, including inclusion on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in Americ in 2024 and 2025. Transparency compliance is table stakes. TALON goes further, turning disclosure into discipline and transparency into behavior change.

  • The Transparency in Coverage Rule doesn't have to break your operations team. "Publish your negotiated rates every month in a standard file" sounds simple. For a lot of health plans, here's what simple actually looks like: • A multi-step manual configuration process, rebuilt every single month • Four-plus staff and outside contractors coordinating one deliverable • A 40+ day cycle to meet a monthly deadline The regulation isn't the challenge. Complying effectively and efficiently is. One Pacific Northwest health plan was living all of it – a 45-day monthly grind – until they rebuilt the foundation. Their MRF cycle now finishes in under a day. We wrote up exactly how they did it and the resulting impact felt by their operations teams. • Healthcare organizations are navigating rising costs, regulatory complexity, workforce constraints, and an increasingly fragmented technology landscape. At the Conduent ELEVATE Conference last week, Mark Galvin, TALON CEO, joined leaders from Conduent and Trillium Health Resources to discuss how organizations can turn insight into action and healthcare complexity into measurable outcomes. Across both sessions, a common theme emerged: better outcomes happen when organizations can transform data into actionable decisions that improve engagement, increase confidence, and reduce unnecessary costs. Thank you to Conduent, Jaret Giesbrecht, Christie Edwards, and Kimberly Marshall for the thoughtful conversations and industry perspectives.

  • At TALON, we strive to build a healthcare ecosystem that is easier for members to understand, trust, and use. As self-funded employers and their members demand simpler choices, greater price certainty, and more confidence in provider quality, alternative health plan designs are gaining momentum. But delivering on that promise takes more than a cleaner interface, a benefit tweak, or better communications. It requires an operating model that connects price governance, incentivized choice, care navigation, and payment experience into something members will actually use. At the 2026 HCAA TPA Summit, Matthew McCormick will unpack what it really takes to build health plans that consumers understand and love, and why administrators are central to making consumer simplification work at scale. #HCAATPASummit #HealthcareTransparency #TPA #HealthPlans #SelfFundedEmployers #HealthcareConsumerism #AlternativeHealthPlans #TALON #PriceTransparency

  • The health plan attendees of AHIP 2026 are all facing the same reality in the commercial space:  Medical cost trend is running near 8.5%. Premium increases have hit the wall - employers struggle to absorb them, employees can't. Medical management is squeezed dry. Admin cuts are tapped out. There's exactly one lever left for margin restoration: re-pricing. And most health plans are walking into contract negotiations, network redesigns, and steerage decisions armed with pricing inputs built for a different era — internal claims, allowed-amount benchmarks, and modeled rates assembled before the contracted price itself was federally published. Meanwhile, members are paying the price for the gap — literally. Half of insured Americans now report skipping care because of cost. Deferred care becomes the next high-cost claimant. Member abrasion becomes the next renewal loss. TALON was built on a different premise: affordability you can prove, not project. We start from the MRF every plan is federally required to publish — the negotiated rate already attested to. We validate and curate this data against 25B+ adjudicated claims and 12 years of experience so you know it adjudicates that way at the point of service. The number on the contract is the number on the EOB is the number the member can plan for. But here's what most of the market hasn't caught up to yet: That same pricing truth doesn't just power member shopping. It's the foundation underneath contracting. Network design. Plan modeling. Steerage. Actuarial assumptions. Payment determination. TALON is the layer underneath. The pricing source-of-truth for what U.S. healthcare actually costs, used by health plans, employers, brokers, and the tools they buy. Not a shopping tool. Not a point solution. The pricing infrastructure that the rest of the stack, and member affordability, should be built on. 📍 If you're heading to AHIP, send us a note to set up time to connect. We'll be at booth #1731. #AHIP2026  #HealthcareAffordability #HealthPlans #PriceTransparency

The New York Times piece making the rounds about No Surprises Act arbitration reads like a familiar story: The system is being gamed. But that's not the part that's actually broken. Arbitrators have no shared, credible number to weigh against whatever brief lands on their desk. So 88% of the time they pick the better-told story. Which is how you end up with a $440K award for a breast reduction the surgeon's own website lists at $15K-25K. Find out what a defensible anchor actually has to look like, and what we built: https://lnkd.in/eSDAhend #NoSurprisesAct #PriceTransparency

How do you win when bigger networks are no longer enough? That's the question shaping the future of health plans and TPAs and the one TALON will answer in New Orleans at the Mphasis User Group Conference this week. The answer isn't more network overhead. It's smarter plan design, defensible pricing, and tools that help members make better decisions before care happens. 💡Catch our session on Monday at 5pm: Building Health Plans That Win: Modern Design, Networkless Pricing, and Clinically Guided Navigation We'll cover: • How TPAs can compete without national-carrier overhead • Why the next generation of plans will be won on pricing intelligence, not network size • How the Mphasis integration creates a scalable path to differentiated plan models powered by TALON If you're at MUG, come find Dawn Aston and Matthew McCormick at the TALON booth or find us during conference events throughout the week.  If you're not, drop a comment and we'll share the key takeaways next week because Healthcare costs too much and hides too much. We’re here to help change that. #Healthcare #HealthPlans #TPA #PriceTransparency #HealthcareTechnology #Mphasis

Every renewal, your clients ask why costs went up. Most advisors answer with trends and benchmarks. It's defensible. It's also a guess. Claims Hindsight Analysis takes your client's actual claims history and shows — in real dollars — what smarter member decisions would have cost. Not estimates. Their data, their employees, their spend. That's not a story. That's a number. And that number reframes every renewal conversation. We’re walking through the full playbook on April 21 — bring a client renewal to mind. Most advisors are competing on the same story. Same carriers. Same benchmarks. Same renewal conversation. The problem isn't effort. It's information. Healthcare costs compound because pricing is hidden from the people who pay. Without real price signals, normal market discipline can't exist. That's structural, and it's fixable. TALON is hosting a live webinar session for advisors, consultants, producers, and senior account managers ready to stop placing coverage and start governing costs. Walk away knowing how to lead with a market narrative that earns CFO attention, show clients where dollars are leaking, and be the advisor who quantifies the fix – not just the problem. 📅 See you on Tuesday, April 21 at 2pm EST Save your spot now → https://lnkd.in/egW7wWsi

Healthcare price transparency used to just be a conversation. Now it's federal law. We were part of that conversation early – writing about why hidden prices aren't just inconvenient, they're the structural reason healthcare markets really aren’t markets. When patients can't compare prices, they can't drive competition. When competition can’t exist, costs can’t come down. That's not a healthcare problem. It's an economics problem. We're sharing some of our earlier work over the coming weeks – pieces that reflect where TALON's thinking started and what we believed the market needed before the regulations caught up. The mandate arrived. Usable transparency is still a work in progress - and that's exactly what we're building.
