Robert Langford Stack is Notable.

An American actor who appeared in more than 40 feature films. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film Written on the Wind (1956). He starred in the television series '"The Untouchables'" (1959-1963) and won the 1960 Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series. Received star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. Later he hosted and narrated the true crime series '"Unsolved Mysteries'" (1987-2002).

He was a World War II veteran who had served as a gunnery officer for more than 3 years in the US Navy. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Expert Rifle Ribbon and Expert Pistol Ribbon.

Born Charles Modini Stack on January 13, 1919 at The Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles, Los Angeles county, California. He was the son of James Stack age 52 and Elizabeth Wood age 27. His father had him christened as Robert Langford Stack and an affidavit explaining this was filed in 1925. [1][2][3]

When he was just 1 year old his parents got divorced, and his mother took him to Europe where he became fluent in French and Italian. He didn't learn English until returning to Los Angeles. His father ended up remarrying his mother but then died when Stack was just 10 years old.

Robert married Rosemarie Bowe on January 23, 1956 in Los Angeles, California, He was 36 years old and his parents were James Langford Stack and Elizabeth Modini Wood. She was 23 years old and her parents were Dennis Valentine Bowe and Ruby Madsoe. The ceremony was performed by George K. Attwood, Lutheran Pastor of the Beverly Hills Lutheran Church. They had 2 children and were together until his death.[4]

He loved shooting and playing polo. He set two world records for skeet shooting and in 1971 he was inducted into the National Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame.

Diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2002, Robert died after a heart attack at the age of 84 on May 14, 2003 at his home in Beverley Hills, California and was cremated. His remains were interred at Westwood Memorial park in Los Angeles, California.[5][6]
