Benjamin Hosking (b. 1984, Australia)

Benjamin Hosking is a photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. He studied at RMIT University and has been an active practitioner since 2008. His work is noted for its explorations of East Asia, with a significant focus on Japan, and has been featured in prominent publishing houses both domestically and internationally.

Hosking’s photographic documentation, which is characterized by a long-form approach to image-making, engages with themes central to contemporary architectural and urban discourse. In his work, there is little that is illusory; instead, the work strives to reveal the tangible realities of the spaces and stories depicted. His work critically examines and articulates the narratives of the built environment across the Asian continent, shaped by complex layers of historical and cultural exchange.
