A great read
Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2013A roller coaster ride in prose of a unique relationship. All the highs and the deepest lows of what having and losing love can be. Anyone who knows how deeply a connection like this can be will certainly feel how this book can resonate with them.
Well written and deeply touching.

A Knock Out
Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2013Review
Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote in his poem `In Memoriam:27′, 1850:
I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
`Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.
Well Penelope Jones in Iniquitous Solace: The Aftermath delves into love and the loss of it, better yet the fracture of it. Part of this compilation of poems was published in an earlier edition Iniquitous Solace with another poet named Max. Now Ms. Jones has revamped her book; Max is gone and she comes out swinging and bearing her soul to the world.
I kept hearing the Chumbawamba song Tubthumper chorus `I get knocked, down but I get up again. You're never gonna keep me down." Nothing keeps Ms. Jones down either. Her pain is apparent in her prose, and I am glad I'm not on the receiving end of her ire. We have all been where Ms. Jones has been, and we are all stronger for it. Heartache in real life, I might add, is a b**ch Lord Tennyson.
It should be noted the author gifted me this book, but I had already bought it; so a book of poetry is up for grabs courtesy of Miss. Penelope Jones.

Emotional and resonant
Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2013I had the honor of reading an advanced copy of this poetry book. It is every bit as wonderful as the original (sadly, now unpublished) Iniquitous Solace only this time it has an oomph to it that speaks of a soul emerging from a cacoon and ready to soar. It is full of beauty, anger, angst, sorrow, fire, passion and most of all, hope and determination. I highly recommend this book! In fact, I just purchased it even though, as I said, I received an ARC copy. It's worth it! (Note: It does contain adult sexual content, and references to BDSM.)

Ms Jones book Iniquitous Solace: The Aftermath is so different to any other book you have ever read. The story is about finding and losing true love. Whats so special about that huh? Miss Jones book is about a dominant-submissive relationship. What is so special about that, huh? Miss Jones write poetry. She does not only write poetry that is so easy to read it will allow you can concentrate on the story, she writes really wonderful poetry. She is a true artist with words at times and that is what makes this book so special. I recommend it to heal all hearts that are broken. Or to all true romantics out there.

J5 out of 5 starsDeeply touching poetry...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 28, 2013There is something truly outstandingly wonderful about Penelope Jones's writing because her words draw me in time and time again. And her latest work, `Iniquitous Solace: The Aftermath' is no exception. Her book of poetry will reach the tips of your nerve endings and make them tingle. You will feel the heartfelt emotion Ms Jones has written and her words will have you gripped from the first page to the very last; including the acknowledgements. If an author can touch your heart with words of love, passion, anger, and a determination to carry on, and can fill your eyes with tears, well, that's got to be very special writing indeed and that's just what you get from this author. Many congratulations to Penelope Jones for producing such amazing writing! And thank you, for sharing your story. I highly recommend this book. Even if poetry is not your usual read, do give it a try, because it will touch you.

Bexxful5 out of 5 starsDeeply touching poetry.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 22, 2013I really do enjoy this authors writing. Often you can read a piece of poetry and it's good, but this author, she makes me think 'wow' how can these words touch me so. What Miss Jones expresses through her poetry is hard-hitting honesty, everything laid bare and open. Its extremely erotic, full of happiness and sadness, anger and bitterness. Every emotion is open and they hit you. Finding love, losing love....'we've all been there' You'll sail along with all the lust and passion and then feel the devastation and hurt. A touching story. I'm a dedicated follower of this talented writer and I highly recommend.
