All About Veronica Frances…

You don’t know me yet, so lets break the ice a little bit…

I am Veronica Frances, a British/Irish girl living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands currently living the year of everything after having had a tough 2015 being treated for breast cancer .

I am just about to embark on a short trip around Europe so I thought I’d take the time to update my blog. I started my blog so that others dealing with breast cancer know that they are not alone in the madness, indeed all of this is more than a tad shit and there are others out there feeling the same way that you do. And I know that reading the blogs of others and hearing their voices really helped me as I started my treatment February 2015. But now my additional aim is to show people that there can be a life after cancer. Ok it is a life full of naps and nights in taking it easy but I am happier than ever. Fact.

Fun Facts about me…

– I was diagnosed with a 28 mm lump, Stage 2, Grade 2, Pr-, ER+, HER2+, Clear nodes April 2015, No mutation found on BRCA1/2, 32 years old at age of diagnosis. (Dont worry if this sounds like an alien language to you just now, in time all will be clear)

I had 3 rounds of FEC and 6 rounds of PTC all with Herceptin & Perjeta and a total of 12 Herceptin doses. After that I had a lumpectomy/WLE and then 21 radiotherapy sessions. \

Before all of that I did one round of IVF with my then boyfriend (husband now) and then started chemo one week after egg retrieval (which was on Easter Sunday – oh the irony!)

And now here I am!

– I will never, ever refer to all of this nonsense as a ‘Journey’, and neither should you unless you want to really pee me off! You can see why here.
