Trivia Stuff

The trivia game is finally back! It is new and improved with lots of settings so let’s get started.

Want to play the game and auto start is off? Use -trivia to get a question!

Once you change these settings they will stay until you change them next (unless my bot crashes before it’s saved).

Mod and streamer commands are:
-ts stands for trivia settings
-ts gamestate on/off
This will turn on or off trivia, so if you don’t want anyone to play anymore you would do -ts gamestate off, the opposite to turn it on, it is off by default.

-ts auto start on/off
This setting will allow you to automate sending questions to the chat, instead of doing -trivia for a question every time, it will just automatically send a message after the timer has passed. This is off by default.

-ts timer ##
Allows you to set the timer to however many seconds you like (though it can’t go under 30 seconds). This means that the bot will send a new message every “x” seconds that you set. The default is 90 seconds

-ts answer seconds ##
This is how long people have to answer the question, it can not be longer than the timer. The default is 55 seconds

-ts fuzz ##
This is how accurate the answer has to be, the higher the number the less mistakes can be made. For example if the answer is Kog’Maw and someone types kogmaw, with 100% fuzz it will not count as the correct answer, however it likely will at 90%. There isn’t an exact science to this especially as the length of the answer will impact how the ratio works. Right now the default is 85%, I would not recommend going lower than 60%. If the answer is shorter than 4 characters fuzz is off and it must be a 100% match.

-ts correct data on/off
This will allow mods and streamers to correct data from twitchchat and add questions from twitchchat, this will follow the same format as when entering mass data, however if you want to do only a portion (either just the question or just the answer) it will work. An example of this would be without the quotes, (the actual number for id_number) “id_number {Answer}KappaPride” . See more below.

-ts backoff rate ##
This will set a delay, after a message goes unanswered and the bot answers instead you can choose to have it take a longer amount of time before the next question is asked. So if this occurred it and you set the rate to 30 seconds, it would be timer + 30 for the next question; if no one answers again, it would be timer + 30 + 30 the second time around, this continues until it hits the backoff max. The default rate is 30 seconds, to turn this off set the backoff rate to 0.

-ts backoff max ##
This will set the limit, the max amount of time between questions would be timer + backoff max. The default is 600 seconds.

-ts delay on/off
If you want a question to immediately be asked again after one is answered (instead of waiting for the timer) you can set this to off. Turn the delay on to have the timer work after a question is answered correctly. By default this is on, so there will be a delay after a correctly answered question.

-ts editor editorname
This is to allow other people to add/edit trivia questions. This can only be done by the streamer or a moderator, and the editorname must be in the channel for this to work.

-ts remove editor editorname
This is to remove editor’s you have added in the past, this can only be done by the streamer or a moderator

-ts game specific on/off
This will tell trivia to try and play questions related to the game you are currently playing, it will sometimes take a minute to update, but if it doesn’t you will be able to manually update with

-ts game Game Name
Make the game name the same as what you have when you made your questions, just without the brackets, and it will update to ask questions related to your current game, and will skip everything else

-ts viewer ask on/off
This will allow viewers to manually ask for another trivia question, otherwise it will only go off after the delays. The default for this is off

-tc stands for trivia correct
This can be used in two ways, the first is to update existing data as seen below

-tc id id_number {Question}TheQuestionHere
example –
-tc id 787 {Question}[League of Legends] What does BE (The points you earn for playing League of Legends) stand for?{Answer}Blue Essence

This is to update individual questions, you will need the id number of the question to use this. You can put in either the question, the answer, or both. Follow the format posted above with the id number at the front, and simply exclude whichever portion you want if you only need to update the question or only the answer.

The second way is to add a new question, and it’s
-tc {Question}[Game]YourQuestionHere{Answer}YourAnswerHere
This will add a new question assuming that you follow the format correctly, see FORMATTING below if you need clarification on what the format is

-dt stands for delete trivia
BEWARE, THERE IS NO EDIT-UNDO HERE. You can use this command to delete either a single id or an entire game (this is why having the game portion is important). The streamer, trivia editor, or a mod can delete singular id’s using (the numbers is the id number)
-dt id ######

Only the streamer can remove an entire game, MAKE SURE THAT the game name matches what has been put in originally, so if the game name in your questions is [League of Legends] make sure to put in League of Legends. The command for that is
-dt gamename
ex. -dt League of Legends

FORMATTING
The format MUST follow – {Question}TheQuestionHere{Answer}TheAnswer
ex.
{Question}[League of Legends] What is Aatrox’s Passive ability called?{Answer}Blood Well

Multiple answers, (any amount) are now supported, the format would be –
{Question}[League of Legends] As of season 10, what champions use their own health as a resource for abilities?{Answer}Aatrox{Answer}Dr Mundo{Answer}Mordekaiser{Answer}Vladimir{Answer}Zac

I recommend adding the brackets and game like [League of Legends] if you play multiple games to make it easier on viewers and so if you want to easily remove all questions for a specific game in the future. If you do not follow the format above, your trivia data will not be accepted/saved.

UPLOAD
If you have not added yourself to the twitchbot yet, do so by doing -join in https://twitch.tv/zerg3rrbot , the below will not work otherwise.

To get your trivia into the bot you will need to go here to my bots discord and message ZERG3RRBOT, your message will consist of the trivia file and your name, in the same message. If you do these separately, it will not work. Let me re-iterate, upload a file and in the prompt that comes up to “add a comment”, please put your twitch name in here, so if you are a streamer at https://twitch.tv/zerg3rr, your twitch name is simply zerg3rr . Any questions feel free to ask by pm-ing me (ZERG3RR#6230) on discord after joining my bots discord channel.

If you have more questions that you’ve added, simply upload another file (or the same file with the new questions in it), again with your name in the comment. Don’t forget you and your mods/trivia editors can also upload questions via your own twitchchat as well when you are live.

Python Commands

There are several bot commands made by ZERG3RR with the help of Thukor and GreenMachine. If you need any help please drop a message in my bots discord here – https://discord.gg/J92RbeZGbJ

When you are doing commands, if there are {} take those out when you do your command, ex. -joinmessage {message} would be -joinmessage Heil Gotdott.

Usable Commands

Want my bot in your channel? Use -join in https://twitch.tv/zerg3rrbot chat, you should get a response, if you don’t then wait a couple hours and try again. If you want to leave do -leave in your own channel or my bots!

Links –
-commands
This will pull up the link for here!

-bot
Get the roadmap for whats being worked on in the bot

-link trivia
Get all the stuff related to the trivia game, this has it’s own set of custom commands for mods

-achievements
Link to all the achievements currently implemented into the bot

Commands –
-followdate
This will show your follow date, its better than other bots as if you follow-unfollow-refollow then it will have your original follow date, other bots just have the most recent date

-invitedby {username}
This will set who invited you to the stream! This can potentially be used to reward the inviter in streams who chose to use it

-sentby
If you have used -invitedby or you came via raid, you can see who sent you to the stream

-trivia
Get a trivia question! If the streamer has sent in trivia questions and turned on the ability to play the game (see -link trivia)

-stats
See all of your stats about the stream your in with this simple command!

-chat
See how much you have chatted in a stream

-hours
See the breakdown of hours you’ve spent in a stream

– invites
See how many people you have invited to the stream

-atrivia
See how many trivia questions you have answered correctly, the a stands for answered!

For some of the keywords below you can add optional parameters! The keywords that can use this are hours, online, passive, and chat/chatters. For the comparison example it would look like -compare hours ltzx days=30 game=League of Legends
The two parameters as we can see above are
{days} – get data between current date and last “x” days
{game} – get data for a certain game
You can choose to use either one or both, if you use both though game MUST come second!

-top {keyword} #
The # is anything between 1-10, if it’s outside of this range or not included it’ll default to 10.
Regarding time, the bot tracks time in the chat and separates it out, total time is both active + passive time, active time is time while you are chatting, and passive time is time where you are not chatting in stream (it switches after your last message after a couple seconds).

Keyword list –
{hours} – all the time for the channel you’re in hour:minute:second format
{online} – active time for the channel you’re in hour:minute:second format
{passive} – passive_time for the channel you’re in hour:minute:second format
{chatters} – get the top chattiest people in the stream
{follows} – get the oldest follows for the channel
{invited} – get the top people that have invited others to the stream
{honor} – get the most honorable people in the stream, ranks instead of pure number
{trivia} – get the smartest people in the stream! Or at least the ones that answer trivia questions anyways

Active time is time spent in the channel where you are actively talking, after a certain amount of time you become an inactive viewer
Inactive time is time spent in the channel where you are lurking and not chatting

-compare {keyword} username
Compare yourself to another viewer! Keywords are –
{hours} – total time spent in stream
{online} – active time spent in stream
{passive} – passive time spent in stream
{chat} – Total chat messages for both viewers
{followdate} – when both viewers followed the stream
{invited} – How many people each person has invited
{honor} – Who has the higher honor level and the ranking
{trivia} – Who has answered more trivia questions correctly

Streamers and mods can now update multiple settings using this command structure.
-update setting {setting} on/off

Setting list –
{achievement} – toggle this on to print out when a viewer earns an achievement! Default is off
{roulette} – toggle this on to allow viewers to play russian roulette, default is on

-delete me
This will delete EVERYTHING that exists of you and you may not be able to play some mini-games such as trivia. If you do this it works across all streamers and your data will not be tracked for any of them, there is no undo like Facebook where you can recover data, it’s permanently gone. It may take several minutes to remove all of your data and some partial data may be available through commands until the streamer goes offline, but none of it is being saved.

-add me
If you have previously used -delete me, this will re-add you to allow your data to be tracked again, however this doesn’t recover lost data.

Under Construction Commands
For top commands, adding in
Planning on making the syntax a bit deeper so you can sort by year/month/day (either year, year/month, or year/month/day) as well as just the most recent month. Also will be able to sort by game. Future command may look like
-top chatters 10 LeagueofLegends curr_month
or
-top chatters 10 StarcraftII 2020/3

Other commands will be
-bm – bad mouth yourself or a friend

-feelgood – make yourself or your friend feel good

-eightball – a regular old eightball

-joinmessage {your message here} – spend twitch points to have a custom join message in the stream, it’ll look like zerg3rrbot: {your name} {your message} in chat

Twitchbot Reintegration Features List

Let’s start off with what this isn’t, I’m not trying to recreate nightbot, moobot, streamlabs, streamelements, etc., they have their own purposes and I’m trying to ensure this is useful to streamers, not just another bot that will fall to the way-side due to the shadow the behemoths above me cast. So likely not much custom commands integration, songrequests, or browser source integration.

Side note – Remember I am a single person and this is still in an alpha stage, there are some bugs and downtime, especially as I am often working and adding features.

As of 2020-7-30 many of the data saving features are implemented or in later stages, there is not yet access to this data however, see below for more details.

So what does this thing do? In order of what will be re-implemented (from the old version for those of you who had it) –

DATA STUFF

  • Save chat logs for every viewer –
    • This has been implemented!
  • Save the amount of time a viewer is active and inactive spent in your channel –
    • Whats active vs inactive time?
      • Basically when a viewer first enters your channel, they will count as an “active viewer”, after a short amount of time (a couple of minutes), they will become an “inactive” viewer instead unless they start talking in the chat, this way you’ll later be able to see who your most active viewers are and it’s an incentive for people to talk in chat (if you want it to be, you can choose not to tell them)
    • These numbers are slightly approximated due to how twitch works, but still pretty close
    • This has been implemented!
  • Honor System –
    • Up
      • This is a pretty unique system, to my knowledge no one else has this! Basically based off of several factors (time spent in stream, chat messages, donations, subs, etc.) a viewers honor will go up when they commit an action
    • Down
      • When a viewer does something bad their honor will go down, if they get timed out, banned, say a bad word, etc.
    • Extensible to allow for things like posting links only after a viewer is above “x” amount of honor
    • This is still in a fairly alpha stage, working out the numbers and a small bit of the implementation, however honor saving over time and timeouts lowering honor has been implemented
  • Other data stuff –
    • Worth mentioning here –
      • I am working on the data portion before we get into the more chat based functionality below, this ensures that you get the most information possible about your stream as soon as possible
    • Join Game –
      • See what users joined on what game you were playing, useful for variety streamers!
        • This is implemented!
    • Follow date –
      • Sometimes viewers accidentally un-follow and then later re-follow the stream, most bots just pull from the twitch API to get what the current follow date is, my bot preserves the old values, so never again will you or a viewer wonder what their original follow date was!
        • This does need to pull initially from the twitch API, so if they un-followed/refollowed a year ago, and you implemented my bot yesterday, I can’t see anything but the most recent date
      • This is implemented!
    • Last Seen
      • Nifty little tool to see the last time that a viewer was in your channel, even if they’re currently in the stream!
      • This is implemented!
    • User Types
      • Viewers, Moderators, and BOTS –
        • This will keep track of who is a moderator/viewer in the channel and the various types of bots
        • There are good bots, bad bots, and bots we just don’t know anything about, I’ve gone through the process of marking over 100 bots that most streamers just don’t want in their channel
    • Invited by –
      • When you’re hosted/raided all new viewers that join will have been “invited by” that streamer, neat for seeing where your new viewership is coming from, there will also be a custom command if your viewers are referring you to randoms via multiplayer games, discords, etc.
      • This has been implemented!

CHAT AND OTHER STUFF

  • Data access for viewers –
    • Your viewers will be able to see how long they’ve spent in your channel per game, total, who invited them, etc.
      • Implemented!
  • Custom join message –
    • Viewers will be able to set a custom join message, this will utilize twitch’s point system
  • Trivia game –
    • Questions that can be answered, this will again be rudimentary at first and will likely require you to send me in a txt file for your questions/answers, again to be implemented in website
    • You can now add questions through discord!
      • Implemented
  • Access to your data –
    • This will be rudimentary at first and likely done via email after each stream, website to be implemented down the line. Show data such as new viewers that joined the stream session, full list of all viewers per session, etc.
  • Achievements for your viewers and for streamers to work towards –
    • Time spent in channel, x amount of chatlines in channel, hit “x” amount of honor, use stream specific emotes “x” times, etc., this is a pretty long list, so just know, lots of ideas! But if you have ideas you want to see implemented message me on discord! (Zerg3rr#6230)
  • Bad Bot Bans –
    • If you get raided by bots all saying the same (or similar messages), once you ban one, my bot (if modded, it should be), will ban EVERYONE else saying the same message if you choose to utilize it. I’ve also got an idea where if you are raided by just simple jackasses, if you ban a user, it will ban all other users that joined during a similar time period. This will also spread to other streamers using the bot, so once you ban someone (using a yet to be determined command), other streamers won’t need to worry about banning the same people.
    • Also implementing a command so that if a bot is marked as bad (or a human), you will have the ability to change their status for your stream specifically

Worth reiterating, this is a TON of work, I’ll add things as I can, the general idea though is to add as much of the data stuff first, then add access to said data later, this is not a quick process, the website could very well be half a year to a year out, and may even be outsourced to a friend. I also have a couple mini-games floating around my head including BINGO, YAHTZEE, simplified D&D, and others, I may work on these in-between the above feature list.

After all this is added and properly working, whats next? My goal is to make the bot as smart as possible, and start feeding you potentials based off of past data, so who is likely to show up when, who you can more easily retain as a viewer, etc., basically, implementing Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to create actionable processes to improve your stream.

This is a free product as of right now, I would like to keep it that way but that means that donations to keep the bot running would be necessary. If later on down the road I determine it can’t be kept online if we keep it free, I may try to restrict certain portions behind a subscription. I don’t want to reach that point, but hosting the website and bot, costs money!

Thanks for taking the time to read, if you want the bot in your channel, pm my discord (Zerg3rr#6230) or email zrgstudios@gmail.com with your twitch name in all lower case characters (besides the numbers!).

3v3 Tournament

Signup link – https://challonge.com/tournaments/signup/Md6Rg0vKGL

WINNERS GET A MYSTERY SKIN EACH, now that that’s out of the way…

Game is on Saturday at 7:30 PM Central Time. For anyone that’s easily confused, look at this countdown clock, ignore the place, I just had to put in something generic.
https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20180728T1930&p0=70&msg=League+3v3+Tournament+Start&font=cursive

The wildest ride of your life will occur if you join this one! This is a 3v3 tournament, all in the bot lane (yeah that’s right, you’re all in one lane). Why didn’t we go with Twisted Treeline? Because there’s a funneling strat in there and I didn’t want anyone getting cranky about it, and we didn’t do a 1 person per lane in rift because I don’t want each game taking a half hour or being a stomp when one dude gets crushed in lane and feeds.

So there’s 3 of you in a lane, you can play whatever champion you want, and you can use the bushes and the riverbush/tribush (but don’t go past these into jungle, if you accidentally take a step past it’s okay, but you shouldn’t end up in this position to begin with), no taking jungle camps either. You guys will be dueling to the death and the first team to get 3 kills, 100 cs on ONE player (ONE player needs to have 100 cs, this is so relic shield isn’t OP and so math isn’t hard), or first tower blood wins.

This will be a draft pick, you can play whatever champion you want that isn’t banned in the draft pick.

You will need 3 team members but if you want to play with 2 you can if someone doesn’t show up. I recommend having a backup or looking for a backup in twitch chat ( https://twitch.tv/zerg3rr ) or discord (find link below).

Each game is a Bo1 with finals being Bo3, there is a round two losers match as well which if you win, will put you back into the main event.

Anyone can back whenever they want to. Not all games will be streamed, only semi-finals and finals will absolutely be streamed. Please try to advance only one 70% of the games have finished in the previous bracket.

If someone goes against the rules please use a snipping tool to capture it and pm me or a mod to resolve the issue, there is a chance that some of the mods will also ask to spectate your games, this is fine.

In the case of a no-show please wait 10 minutes then give yourself the win, if you cheat and are reported, other player gets the win instead, dirty cheater ;).

Don’t bm each other, minor banter is okay if you know each other personally ❤

Everything is streamed on twitch.tv/zerg3rr

Brackets are randomized several times over up until event start.

You should follow twitch.tv/zerg3rr if you want to compete in future events or join in our occasional in-house custom 5v5's

PLEASE use your summoners name as your name. You can have whatever team name you like as long as it isn't offensive. PLEASE put your team name with your team members in #teams under Tournaments in the discord and have all members attached in the challonge as well as your backups, and if you're looking for additional players use the #polls text chat under the same category. If you lose on one team you cannot join another.

If you have a question PM a mod or zerg3r on discord.

There is no min or max on what rank can be played, if you have 3 challengers on your team thats fine, if you have 3 bronzes, that's okay too, if you have a challenger a bronze and a gold thats also okay, any ranks are fine, only stipulation is you have to have enough champions to play draft pick.

If you BM, you will be banned and potentially removed from any future tournaments. Discretion will be left up to mods and myself.

If you would like to see bigger or more tournaments in the future, please consider donating, these tournaments are backed completely via viewer support. If you want to play in more tournaments, in house custom 5v5's or things of that nature, make sure to follow twitch.tv/zerg3rr and join the discord linked at the bottom. Make sure to invite your friends as well so that they can participate and this will grow the stream.

Use twitch or the find-opponent channel to find your opponents you're playing against; alternatively you can add the players on league because their in game name should match their name on challonge. Any questions ask myself or a mod.

To make a team click the drop down menu next to your name (to the right) then select teams, new team, then you can enter in information to make your team, and from there you should be able to invite people.

Get VIP

Do you want VIP Bronze? Of course you do! Pm me on discord and just say “VIP Bronze” by midnight tomorrow (est, that’s 9pm for you pst users) and get half a year of VIP Bronze! Invite 5 friends to follow the stream (and whisper me) and get VIP Silver! For those of you feeling crazy, invite 12 friends to follow the stream (and let me know who sent them), and get VIP Gold!

VIP bronze-gold increases the amount of lings you collect. I’m only accepting whispers through twitch or discord. If I smell attempts at cheating, I’ll turn off your ling income instead for 6 months, so don’t try it!

Any invited friends who follow will also receive half a year of VIP bronze.

Good luck!

Playing On Elysium

If you’d like to play on the legacy WoW servers (as of March 18, 2017 , in the future this method may be broken) you can do so! One of the largest is Elysium. The method to go get online is by first email verification here  , which you should definitely read the directions for but can be summarized as “don’t use a microsoft email (I personally recommend gmail), and you will need to verify your email and cannot change emails.” Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that since they are regularly updating and changing things, sometimes emails need to be resent for verification (you may need to try this quite a few times before an email gets through); you can also make sure to whitelist: elysium-project.org ,
elysium-project.com , and noreply@mail.elysium-project.org . You can also try using https://www.guerrillamail.com if you really get annoyed and it doesn’t want to go through. I recommend guerrilla as a very last resort as you won’t be able to access the email address again in the future. What you can try is logging in anyways even if the email doesn’t go through, for whatever reason I never verified but it still let me in after the fact!

** Because I forgot to mention, you can have emails resent via the Control Panel!

On the side you can also see how to download and play. On the off chance those download options don’t work for you, you can try using this one  instead. I personally used google drive download link 1, but that seems to be out of commission now so you can try one of the other two options if you can’t get the initial ones to work. Make sure to read the rest of the directions as well, such as the

“Important Installation Note:
Do NOT install the client to the Program Files directory. As default, it will list the installation path as “C:\World of Warcraft Classic”, providing that “C:\” is your System drive.”

and

Troubleshooting:
The installer is asking to insert a disk

  • Ensure “WoW-1.12.1-Setup.exe” is ran with the 3 “WoW-1.12.1-Setup-*.bin” files in the same directory. See below:

If you are still having questions, you can talk to the mods/GMs in their Discord. There is a link on their page as well but if that fails for you, here is a link I made.

Don’t forget before you try to play to ”

Edit the content of the file realmlist.wtf to:
set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org

otherwise you could create more problems for yourself! If you’re looking to join me, I’m on the Elysium server on the horde side, pm me on discord for my name!
