Enough Space for Everyone Else is a kickstarter for a sci-fi anthology featuring diverse creators, characters, and stories without militarism or imperialism.
Today we’re shining a Creator Spotlight on one of the creators, Anna Landin!
Anna Landin, the Swedish author and illustrator of the webcomic Grassblades, is contributing the short comic “At the Foot of the Sky,” a warm, humane vignette about big dreams in a small corner of the universe. Landin’s work consistently prioritizes diversity, and bursts with genuine affection for her characters, while showing a wonderful eye for creative detail and world-building.

Here is Anna, in her own words:
“I’m a freelancing illustrator, character designer and comic artist, always looking for new challenges (and new work!). Perhaps it’s the long, dark, Swedish winters giving me a lot of time to sit still indoors, but I’ve grown up with an obsessive love of storytelling and the crafting of fictional worlds. If there is a story to be told, I want to tell it; if there is a world to be built, I want to build it.”

While the sci-fi and space fiction genres, in theory, are about the infinite possibilities promised by outer space and the future, they have become dominated by the same imperialist tropes and narratives, about the same types of characters. Enough Space for Everyone Else aims to reclaim these genres and the notion of infinite possibility… both in what kinds of stories and whose stories can be told in these genres.
