Our 1st Exhibition took place in last two days.  It was wonderful experience to meet lovely people with they passion for Bonsai and see they lovely materials.  Please fill free to explore pictures below.

Announcement
The organising committee of the Irish National Bonsai Exhibition are pleased to
invite submissions for inclusion in the first national bonsai exhibition to be held
in Ireland.
The exhibition shall take place in Limerick City on the weekend of 7th and 8th
February, 2026.
We wish to include the best possible bonsai trees in Ireland so want to reach
out to bonsai practitioners across the island.
If you wish to put forward your tree for consideration, please read the
submission notes below carefully and make your submission by September
15th, 2025 to irishbonsaiexhibition@gmail.com
You will be notified by October 15
th, 2025 if your application has been
successful.
Entry Procedure.
• Please submit up to 4 clear photographs of your tree against a neutral
background. The entire silhouette of the tree should be visible. Close ups of
key character features can be included as well as side views.
• Photographs of deciduous trees in winter image will be helpful to the
selection process.
• If possible, show what your entire display will look like. (We understand
accents may be seasonal). Any other elements of the display that you wish to
include should also be included in the above photographs if available.
• Include the species of tree, height, width and depth, pot maker/source if
known, and origin of tree if known.
• An entry fee of €50 will apply per entry. (Shohin displays will treated as a
single entry).
Exhibition Guidance.
• Trees will be accepted as part of a full, coherent display, rather than as
individual trees. Each entry must be fully complete. A display space of up to 2
metres per display will be available.
• Trees will be presented free of pests and diseases, clean and in good general
condition.
• Trees will be mossed/prepared in pots/containers that are clean/oiled as
appropriate.
• Trees will be presented on a table or other suitable platform (jitta/slab etc).
• Trees will be accompanied by an appropriate accent plant or object, sitting on
a suitable jitta/table
• While wired branches are acceptable, any wire present should be minimal,
and not of a crude or rough nature.
• If multiple trees are to be entered as part of a display, the full display shall be
coherently arranged with suitable accent/tables etc as above.
• The position of the display within the overall exhibition will be determined by
the organising committee.
• All entrants agree to public photography of their displays etc.
• Each entrant will be responsible for any misting/maintenance of their trees
during the exhibition and they will transport the entry to and away from the
exhibition during the setup/take down window provided.

At the end of May, we had the pleasure of having Raffa with us. Please see some pictures from our busy weekend with him.

Dear frinds
Our next meeting is a payable workshop with Raffa Torres. Well know European artist. This event will take place on Saturday and Sunday  24-25/05/25 at Fota Arboretum and Garden. We will work on our trees under Raffa direction from 9 – 17ish.
Cost per day, per person 100-110€ or less, depends on the number of participants. Lunch included.  I need confirmation and money transferred to PayPal piotr.wiecek@vp.pl before the 15th of May.
