He Wanted a Quiet Day in Nature

This place really bugs me.
Our region is being invaded by the periodic cicadas this summer. For 17 years the nymphs live underground, and then they emerge by the billions, shed their exoskeletons, mate and die. The collective sound they make is deafening.

I would not like this gift from nature.
The tree trimmers have arrived on time. Watch your step!
This isn’t your year, right? I know it’s not for Columbus. I do my yard work EARLY or LATE, when they aren’t flying around.
Oh, we have them but they are not as plentiful as some nearby areas such as New Concord and Zanesville city.
Sounds similar to the new students at Cicada University. 17 years underground, emerge, create noise and havoc with intent to mate.
The die part doesn’t hold true but hopefully they will mature in the next 17 years. The cycle goes on.
And the cicadas never study either.
What?! I couldn’t hear you!
No wonder.
Time to bug out I think
Do you have these critters in the UK?
I don’t think we do.
Nice one..!
Thanks, Vikey!
