JENNINGS, La. (NEWS 15) — A Jennings man was taken to the hospital after getting stabbed in his sleep, and a woman was arrested not far from the crime scene, according to the Jennings Police Department. Jetyrenee Williams, 28, is charged with attempted second-degree murder. Bond has not been set. Authorities reported she stabbed a 58-year-old man in the neck and hand while he was sleeping.

LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Cases of a gastrointestinal illness caused by the parasite Cyclospora have more than doubled in one week across Louisiana, with the Lafayette and Baton Rouge areas reporting the highest concentrations in the state. Louisiana health officials reported at least 55 confirmed cases statewide, including five hospitalizations. The week prior, 23 cases had been reported.
