Bottomline up front: Coming from a Ronin SC (yes, I know, that's DJI's old budget entry level gimbal), this is a phenomenal upgrade, without breaking the bank!!

I upgraded to the Weebill 3S from my DJI Ronin SC. I wanted a gimbal that supported native vertical mount shooting, as well as standard landscape shooting, I was really debating between this and the DJI Ronin RS3 Mini, as I didn't want to break the $500 mark going into the "regular" Ronin RS3 or Zhiyun Crane 4. Reviews for the Weebill 3S and the Ronin RS3 were practically the same...overall, both are really good for their price and category, with minor nit picks in either camp. In the end, I ended up going with the Weebill 3S because you got a bit more for your dollar--I ended up getting the wrist rest/handle add on for about $30 more than just the RS3 mini without any extras.

Let me tell you, I'm not disappointed I went this route! The overall stabilization and ease of balancing was leaps and bounds over my Ronin SC. And the wrist-rest and handle combo make a big difference in reducing strain on your hand/arm. Build quality seemed on par with my Ronin, and everything was easy to assemble and get going. Balancing was WAY easier than with my Ronin SC (for reference, I'm using a Sony FX30 with Sigma 16mm lens) and the 3S doesn't struggle at all with my setup. One nit pick I have is one of the adjustment knobs gets blocked by the camera mounting plate in the vertical setup due to how far the plate protrudes forward for balancing, but for my setup, it wasn't a big issue. I may just relocate the camera on the mounting plate a bit forward and rebalance everything, but for now, it's working great. All the functions are very similar to the Ronin I came from, from the trigger pulls to the modes. Auto-tuning the motors is super easy. Bluetooth and wired connection to my FX30 work great. The fill light is neat, but I'm not sure how much use I'd get out of it. But, it's bright and you can control the color temp.

I can't directly compare to the Ronin RS3 mini, but from my experience so far with this, it's an outstanding gimbal that is easy to get set up, use, and seems to be quality built. If you're looking for a sub $500 gimbal that offers a lot of value, this is definitely worth your consideration.

Pros:

- Price value compared to DJI

- Easy setup

- Easy balance

- Easy connection to camera

- Handle and wrist rest add on is really nice to have for reducing strain

- Stabilization is buttery smooth!

- Native vertical mounting

Cons:

- At least one knob may be partially blocked from adjustment depending on how you have to mount your camera to the quick release plate

UPDATE: My gimbal ran into an issue. The locks on the baseplate stopped locking, and there's a major design flaw that makes it difficult to tighten the locks back up. I wasn't able to, I reached out to Zhiyun, they were willing to send me a replacement baseplate for about $20. I said no. Luckily I paid for the Asurion insurance, now I'm sending it back for a full refund. Cool gimbal. Not really worth it anymore for me in my opinion. Great for portability and works decently. Not good for professional environments.

I want to start this review off with this is my first gimbal. I can't honestly tell you if this is the best gimbal ever or in it's price range, but what I can tell you is this thing is amazing! It's so smooth and it has a few neat features that I couldn't find in a lot of other gimbals at this price range like vortex mode!

Pros

- Coming from someone who used a tripod to film, the difference is like night and day! I've been able to get some extremely cinematic shots with this gimbal with ease

- Super easy to balance once you figure it out because of the locks

- Holds a good amount of weight

- feels high quality

- The add ons are great! Definitely get the combo/the wrist rest!

- Has an AMAZING app that really helps with self shooting/ allows you to control the gimbal from the app

- Allows you to charge the camera while using the gimbal

Even though this gimbal is absolutely perfect for me so far, there are a few cons.

- Even though it holds a lot of weight, I am slightly having issues balancing the Sigma 24-70mm lens with my ZV-E1 and a6600. Now this is a relatively big, heavy piece of glass and I probably won't use it on the gimbal a lot, but some bigger lenses definitely aren't for this gimbal

- Because it's pretty heavy, you might need the wrist rest or else it's going to tire you out while getting low shots

- The new Crane 4 seems a LOT better than this gimbal. If you have a bit more, I'd definitely go with that over the Weebill 3s. It holds more, has more updated features, and seems more compact at the same time

Great gimbal, especially for the price. But unfortunately it did not work with my Sony FX30. I tried mounting on the horizontal plane, but slotting in the plate vertically and by mounting vertically and slotting in the plate horizontally — but the overall room wouldn’t work. However, when I tested it in a purely horizontal setup it was awesome.

I use the gimbal with my Canon R50. It was easy to set up and balance out. It feels very comfortable with my camera attached. I shoot several wedding videos and this is as very integral to of my videography. The battery life is amazing. I haven't even talked into it's full potential yet but I'm working on it. The gimbal is really strong but light in my hands. The tripod bottom attachment is really great to set the rig down and help frame a shot. I will use this for a very long time.

I tried the the Zhuyin Crane M3 (underpowered), DJI RS3 Mini (just didn’t feel right in the hand), and Feiyu Scorp-C (poor build quality). I finally settled on the Weebill 3S for being the most well rounded. Good motors/stabilization, great build quality, easy to use interface, tightly assembled, and very well priced. I use it with a Sony A7R4 with the Zeiss 16-35 F4 and it does a good job keeping my footage stable.

We’ve used the Weebil line for years and they are affordable and mostly reliable. This particular model I really enjoyed the look way more than the previous Weebil S. Much more modern and streamlined. Also, the addition of the fill light is awesome for what we do as wedding videographers.

It’s very compact and easy to assemble and set up. I like that you don’t need any extra apps or anything.

The cons that I found were the area by where your thumb rests got uncomfortable and rubbed raw after holding it for a while. If you won’t be using it for long periods, then you might not need to worry about that, but for longer shoots, they need to switch up that design (the Weebil s never gave us that problem). In addition, it wouldn’t work correctly with our Canon R5. First of all, the Bluetooth wouldn’t always connect properly, so we stopped using that and simply plugged it in directly. Unfortunately, using it like that, sometimes the camera wouldn’t start recording when the button was pushed so I thought I was getting footage when I wasn’t, which is horrible if you have a job where you can’t miss certain shots.

I sent the camera into canon thinking it was a problem with the camera itself, but after testing it for many hours, turns out it was actually the gimbal. Our old Weebil s also had a few issues with the r5, so I’d suggest going with another gimbal if you have an r5. Our r6 had no problem with the Weebil s though, so maybe that would work with this gimbal too.

I really wanted this to work but sadly had to send it back in for a refund and went with another gimbal instead.

I’ve owned the DJi Ronin Rs3 Pro and now the Zhyiun Weebill 3s. After learning on the Ronin rs3 pro and becoming proficient with it, I can confidently say the Zhyiun Weebill 3s is so much faster to balance and set up compared to its predecessor. The build quality is phenomenal and exceeded my expectations, especially for the price! I bought the very base model, so I know comparing it to the “Pro” from DJI is like comparing apples to oranges. But I’m comparing functionality and quality. I shoot with a Sony A7iii with a Ziess 24-70m lens. The Motors on the Zhyiun Weebill 3s are more than enough for the Sony. I’m sure if you were to get the Weebill 3s combo package with the added wrist support/two handed grip it would take the 3s to the next level just due to price alone! Zhyiun is definitely competing in this market and I can see them dominating pretty soon! Zhyiun, you just earned a life long customer! I hope this review helps someone that’s in the boat of which gimbal they should purchase. I would say go Zhyiun Weebill 3s all day long!

Gimbal is good but not able to register in there site because I brought from Amazon

Gimbal acheté pour un projet vidéo avec un 5d Mk IV. Appareil compatible selon le tableau de compatibilité officiel de la marque.

Mais l‘apapreil est très gros et lourd pour ce type de gimbal. Il fait le job mais les réglages sont limités notamment à cause de la poignée du 5D qui ne permet pas de régler précisément la balance gauche / droite.

Le prix est très correct pour l’engin mais mon regret est qu’il n’est pas parfaitement compatible avec mon boîtier contrairement à ce qui est affiché.

Je l’ai acheté sans la seconde poignée de confort, je le regrette mais dans tous les cas cette poignée est beaucoup trop chère pour ce que c’est. Elle coute presque la moitie du gimbal lui même. C’est beaucoup trop cher pour ce type d’accessoire il faut le dire.

I enjoy pointing my Sony zv-e10 at things when I’m out for a wander. But was getting bored with ordinary looking point and shoot results.

In stepped this Gimbal. I’ve never really used one before as I always thought they seemed a bit annoying to set up. I was wrong. It took me 15 mins following a YT video and I was all set. Low learning curve too - so once you’ve down it once you’ll be able to adjust and start over with instruction.

Using it is just as easy. The modes and controls are intuitive and easy to use. It’s comfy to hold for long periods of time, although I did buy the wrist rest / handle they make to add extra comfort - recommend spending the extra £100 or so.

Plenty of guides online for making the most of the gimbal - creative ways to use it etc. it does take some practice, particularly for low down shots (as you can’t see the screen in the back of camera, unless it tilts up) but it’s fun to learn.

If you’re a Vlogger then the one button selfie mode is great where it instantly rotates 180 degrees to focus on you rather than the scene.

Charge time and length is great. The integrated light has also been a god send - it’s powerful, not a gimmick. Love that you can use it as a power bank too.

Plenty of other accessories you can add if you’re looking to have this as part of a bigger rig with lights, screens, mics etc.

Overall this gave me a new hobby and I’m loving the process as much as the results.

Auf der Suche nach dem idealen Gimbal für meine Bedürfnisse war ich lange Zeit unterwegs. Obwohl ich bereits den Zhiyun Crane 3S besitze, habe ich ihn kaum verwendet, da er schlichtweg zu sperrig und schwer ist, zumindest für kleinere Kameras, für große Kameras wie die Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro ist das Gimbal natürlich ideal.

Ein kompakter, leichter Gimbal war also notwendig, den ich problemlos auf Reisen und Wanderungen mitnehmen konnte. Gleichzeitig musste er stark genug sein, um meine Canon Eos R und Canon 24-70 Objektiv, die insgesamt über 2 kg wiegen, zu tragen. Der DJI RS3 Mini war daher keine Option. Aus diesem Grund entschied ich mich für das neueste Spitzenmodell von Zhiyun, den Weebill 3S.

Nach ausführlichen Tests bin ich äußerst zufrieden mit meinem Kauf. Der Gimbal bewältigt mühelos mein Kamera-Setup! Selbst wenn ich mein Schnellwechselsystem anbringe sind die Motoren stark genug, um die Kamera sanft "schweben" zu lassen.

Einige Punkte und Features haben mich besonders positiv beeindruckt:

- Die Verarbeitung und Materialien zeugen von hoher Qualität und wirken äußerst hochwertig.

- Die Aufnahmen sind dank des neuesten Algorithmus butterweich.

- Der Wechsel in den Hochformatmodus erfolgt mühelos, ohne zusätzliche Anbauteile. Einfach die Aufnahmeplatte drehen.

- Die Bedienung über das Display ist einfach und erfordert keine lästige App. Die automatische Motor-Kalibrierung, Einstellungen für das Deadband und die Geschmeidigkeit usw. können direkt am Gimbal vorgenommen werden.

- Ein wirklich nützliches Feature ist das programmierbare Drehrad an der Vorderseite, auf dem individuelle Funktionen zugewiesen werden können. Ich habe hier zum Beispiel die Neigung der Tilt-Achse des Gimbals zugewiesen, sodass ich die Neigung mit dem Drehrad steuern kann. Es kann jedoch auch für die Steuerung von Kamera-Zoom oder ISO verwendet werden, usw.

- Die Kamera kann drahtlos über Bluetooth gesteuert werden.

- Die innovative und anpassbare Armstütze entlastet das Handgelenk, was besonders bei längeren Aufnahmen von Vorteil ist.

- Die Einheit mit dem Handgriff und der Armstütze (700 g) kann schnell mit dem Quick-Release-System entfernt werden und macht den Gimbal dadurch noch leichter und kompakter (1130 g).

- Ein nettes Extra ist das integrierte Licht, das in Helligkeit und Farbtemperatur angepasst werden kann.

Mein Fazit:

Der Weebill 3S ist ein herausragender Gimbal mit einem ausgezeichneten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und vielen nützlichen Funktionen. An einigen Stellen könnte er noch optimiert werden, aber insgesamt kann ich ihn auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Der Weebill 3S ist nicht perfekt, aber verdammt nah dran!
