Our events calendar brings together live bands, DJs, jazz jams, global sounds, community gatherings and late-night parties. With a focus on independent artists, local crews and culture rooted in connection. We're inviting you to experience the magic of our weekly Thursday Jazz Jam.
Since 2016, Stratos, our resident jazz band led by the talented and Mercury Prize-nominated Rio Kai, has held down this popular night, bringing together fans and musicians for an electrifying exploration of jazz.
Every week, Stratos dives into both the classic roots and boundary-pushing edges of jazz, creating a unique space where improvisation and connection take centre stage. With Rio Kai on bass, Dom Pusey on saxophone,Mike De Souza on guitar, and Zoe Pascal on drums, each set offers something new—a true celebration of live, evolving music.
After the first set, they open up the jam to jazz musicians who want to get involved! Contact Stratos on Instagram if you’re interested in jamming. Entry is free for jammers.

With 10 years under its belt, Rotation Policy is one of London's prime locations for lovers of soulful dance music. With bookings including Antal, Darryn Jones, Sassy J and Aroop Roy to name a small fraction. They have a passion for dance music with emotive
depth and uplifting rhythm.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Their next guest at Grow is Aqwea, a longstanding NTS resident with an impeccable taste for soulful house music. Aqwea credits her DJ sets as the space where her identity finds its truest form of expression via a warm exchange of eclectic sounds. Often found on lineups alongside musical heroes and communities that shaped her sound, Aqwea enjoys sharing a genre agnostic style that journeys through eras,moods and tempos. Expect nods to her native Ghanaian roots, soulful blends of house, jazz, jungle, garage and everything in between.
Guest mixes at Rinse FM, BBC Radio 1, Vinyl Factory and Mixmag. A regular contributor to spaces curated by the renowned Eglo Records and Deviation imprints, her signature sets resonate beyond club spaces and into global scenes with appearances at GALA, We Out Here, Fête de la Musique and Notting Hill Carnival.
It will be a musically expansive night for those who love to dance to locked house grooves interwoven with uplifting lyrics, funky baselines and energetic disco heat. Kicking off on the terrace from 7pm - 10pm before taking it inside to the warehouse until 2am.

The 8th edition of Tina Edwards’ jazz dancefloor party is a special one. After taking an extended break, Love is Everywhere returns for a one-time Summer edition. Jazz dancefloor takes centre stage once more.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Helping us pay homage to jazz dancefloor culture is a deeply rescpeted music head with an enviable record collection—he’s and one of the host’s closest friends and collaborators; it’s Tim Garcia.
As always, the night will open with a free entry, beginner friendly jazz dancefloor lesson from one of the world’s most admired dancers in the scene, Masumi Endo. Dance collective The Footnotes will return to the party of their founding to perform right before the headline set. Utterly unmissable.
TIM GARCIA:
Tim Garcia is a London-based DJ, radio broadcaster, and label owner known for his genre-spanning selections and deep-rooted commitment to underground music culture. With a weekly residency on Rinse FM, Tim continues to champion cutting-edge sounds across electronic music, jazz, hip hop, and global club styles. He previously held down a five-year weekly show on national station Jazz FM and was a regular on Worldwide FM until its closure.
As a DJ, Tim has played at clubs and festivals around the world, including Glastonbury, We Out Here, Love Supreme, Lost Village, and Beneath the Baobabs and many more, earning a reputation for dynamic, soulful sets that connect the dots between scenes and styles.
Through his label Musica Macondo, Tim has released music from Grammy-nominated artists and some of the most respected names in global and electronic music including Quantic, K15, and Osunlade. The label is driven by a belief in music as a force for social change, exploring circular models of music release and cross-cultural, non-extractive collaborations that honour community and creative integrity.
His work is grounded in a rich understanding of music’s cultural and social power, further shaped by a Master’s degree in Ethnomusicology from SOAS University of London.
TINA EDWARDS:
Tina Edwards is a DJ at the forefront of the UK Jazz explosion. In the wake of live acts breaking through onto major stages, it’s time for Jazz to dominate on the dancefloor. Having been a vocal pioneer of the UK scene for a decade—and DJing for the past 5—Tina proves that jazz and club culture are perfect partners.
WIth contagious energy and deep music knowledge—from West African groove and latin-house to 00’s Italo Jazz—Tina’s sets are never predictable. She performs across the UK and has played in Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Chicago and LA, all as an independent artist. She’s shared line-ups with Gilles Peterson, Colleen Murphy, Coco Maria, Scarlett O Malley, Delfonic, Rebecca Vasmant, Poly-Ritmo and more. Her party, Love is Everywhere, puts jazz dance floor at the forefront—along with Latin, Brazilian and house—and pays homage to the likes of Dingwalls and Shiftless Shuffle.
Tina hosts multi-genre new music show Next Big Thing on British Airways as well as her self-titled monthly residency on Soho Radio—not to mention the occasional Bandcamp Weekly. As one of Worldwide FM’s longest serving residents, Tina launched the popular breakfast show WW Daily, and hosted extra shows: EZH and Universal Sanctuary. In 2022 she presented the TV documentary JAZZ UK :Spitting Fire which aired on BBC One and BBC Four - testament to the fact that Tina is a trusted broadcaster and tastemaker. As a curator, she heads up Queer Jazz, promoting LGBTQIA+ talent in the jazz community, and re:sonate, programming far-reaching line-ups with fellow tastemaker, Tim Garcia.
MASUMI ENDO (jazz dance teacher)
Masumi Endo is a dancer, choreographer, and movement director. Born in Fukuoka, Japan, she began ballet at the age of 3 and learned various street dance styles such as Hiphop, Lock dance, Soul, and House from the age of 11. She moved from Tokyo to London in 2023 and has been performing and teaching regularly across London since.
Foot Notes
Foot Notes is an open community in London who celebrate dance and music through the lens of UK Jazz Dance. Foot Notes gave their first-ever public performance at Love Is Everywhere #4.

Equal Parts touch down this July for their third outing of 2026 at Hackney Wick's best-loved canalside venue, Grow.
ABOUT THE EVENT
LA-based Apiento, a. k. a. Paul Byrne is perhaps best known as the founder of Test Pressing, an independent electronic music blog and online magazine founded in 2008. He curates the much-loved Sunrise Sessions at Love International festival and boasts a string of hard-hitting releases including the highly sought after 'Things You Do For Love' on World Building in 2019 and 'She Walks' with Alex Tepper on Leng in 2010 among others. Tailored squarely for the dancefloor, Apiento's recent Balearic house number 'The Yellow Place' (also with Alex Tepper) on Test Pressing's club-focused sub-label Test Pressing Tracks demonstrates his command of grittier, more energetic sounds.
Apiento is a regular on New York's TheLotRadio and hosts a longstanding 'Test Pressing' show on NTS radio alongside his New Age Dance Show on dublab. In the club, Apiento's DJ sets are deep and considered, and weave together house, techno, dub, and disco under his self-proclaimed 'floaty bangers' sonic signature. Equal Parts can't wait to welcome Apiento to Grow this July.
Ahead of the main event, Equal Parts residents Cymba and fairground will be on hand with a Balearic-soaked set featuring Italo disco and house rollers befitting of Solero season. Before that, Arnie - fresh from his highly acclaimed set at the beloved Gottwood Treehouse last month - kicks things off in the main room with a set spanning deep house, edits, and nu-disco. Outside on Grow's magaical canalside terrace as the sun sets over the Lea Valley, Equal Parts residents Ani and DJ Nick will deliver a special three hour b2b of blissful grooves to get the evening started right.

Conceived in a warehouse just a stone’s throw from Main Yard, Equal Parts have been throwing parties exclusively at Grow four times a year without fail since 2018. Forged in the twilight of Hackney Wick’s warehouse heyday, Equal Parts set out with the humble intention of curating friendly, dance-focused parties that guarantee maximum aural and kinetic pleasure at Hackney Wick’s best-loved DIY venue. Staying true to these roots, seven years on, Equal Parts is now a bona fide Friday-night Grow stalwart, with their resident DJs lining up at recent parties alongside a roster of heavy weight and rising talent, from Secretsundaze, Michelle Manetti, and Wes Baggaley to Tia Cousins, Parris, Maybe Laura, B.Love, and John Gómez. For 2026, Equal Parts ensure top-tier selectors grace Hackney Wick’s best-loved dancefloor yet again, with two further dates lined up for Solero season and a friends and family Halloween spectacular slated for October. Expect boat party energy into the early hours with sounds spanning House, Disco, Techno, and everything in-between.

Mucho Soul are joined by Basil Black II Basics, Miss Soxee and Damian Charles for an afternoon and night moving through jazz, soul, funk, broken beat, disco and deep house.
Basil Black II Basics
A regular at Soul On The Canal Side since 2017, Basil Isaac brings together DJing and live percussion. Across 35 years in music, he has worked with artists including Basement Jaxx, Peven Everett, Masters at Work, Robert Owens and the late Maxi Jazz, alongside appearances at Glastonbury, Cross The Tracks and Electric Picnic.
Miss Soxee
The woman behind East London Open Decks, Miss Soxee moves through jazz, funk, soul, disco, broken beat and house. She is also part of the Eves’ Drop Collective and has played at We Out Here, across the UK and throughout Europe.
Damian Charles
A dedicated house music selector with a deep collection spanning soulful, Detroit and underground sounds. Damian hosts a weekly show on Point Blank Radio and has played at Notting Hill Carnival, Deep Into Soul and Faith. He heads up the late basement session.
Mucho Soul
Founded in Soho in 2001 by Alan Kenny Arscott and Ket Shah, Mucho Soul have spent more than two decades joining the dots between jazz, reggae, funk, broken beat, house, disco and electronic music. Their Soul On The Canal Side parties have been a fixture at Grow since 2017.

A unique musical experience that breaks the mould. David (The Orbalist, Hackney Rhythm) hosts a jam that is accessible for everyone—no more pay-to-play, no more rehearsed sets. A space where synths, sequencers, MPCs, and E-drums harmonise with guitars, basses, keys, and acoustic drums.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
When Alessandro Corda and David met at the jam, they immediately realised they shared the same passion for music and had similar values. Alex, a versatile musician, DJ, and producer, and a regular at London’s jams and host of a couple, offered to work closely with David. Not only did he manage the stage, but he also contributed behind the scenes, taking the jam to the next level.

Whether you’re a keyboard virtuoso, a beatmaker, or a storyteller with a voice, this jam is for you. Bring your passion and your open mind. Our stage has hosted the tentative strumming of novice guitarists, the mesmerising loops of experienced producers, and the raw vocals of singers discovering their voices. From Charlie Stacey to Qoha or George The Poet, our stage has welcomed talented artists from various disciplines, including regulars: Alex Mike The Mic, Freddie Mpanga, Nico (MoorMoor), Conor Larkin, Matt Duduryn, Tom Caton, Richard Castle, Simon (Koyoka), and many others who come together to share their music experience, celebrate their progress, enhance growth, and enjoy each other - keeping eclecticism our flagship. The NTUJ session is a sandbox for sonic exploration, where David conducts, orchestrates, and brings people together. Here, musical boundaries dissolve, genres intertwine, and magic is born. Discothèque Tropicale make their Grow debut this August, bringing their sun-soaked world of tropical grooves, soulful dance music and deep Afro-Caribbean cuts to the canal.

Known for their London parties and serious digging habits, the collective have quickly built a name for sets that move through retro zouk, soca, tropical disco, house, synth-pop and club-ready gems from across the globe.
For this one, Discothèque Tropicale (Josh FB, Matty S, Sultan, Fred Salt) are joined by Arlyss, Atlas, Sanoy for a full evening of heat, rhythm and proper dancefloor energy.
Expect rare tropical records, big smiles, loose hips and a dancefloor that keeps building as the night goes on.

The annual Girlz B Like "Open to Close" session returns as resident hostess and founder Marcia DaVinylMC takes you on a seven-hour journey through soulful house, gospel house, disco, rare grooves, boogie, broken beat, jazz, revival classics and everything in between.

This is one of only TWO 'Open to Close' sets Marcia will play in 2026, making it a rare chance to experience a full-night musical story told entirely on vinyl.
Since 2015, Girlz B Like has been championing women DJs, Black music culture and the art of playing records the old-school way creating an inclusive dancefloor where everybody is welcome.

Every week, Stratos dives into both the classic roots and boundary-pushing edges of jazz, creating a unique space where improvisation and connection take centre stage. Chicha Por Favor is back in East London for another celebration of Peruvian tropical music, digging deep into the psychedelic world of chicha while embracing the artists pushing the sound into new territory.
Leading the night are Las Chanchas, an exciting new project formed in 2025 that is already carving out its own space within the contemporary chicha scene. With a stripped-back line-up, fearless approach and infectious energy, the band reimagines the sounds of the Peruvian Amazon without losing the hypnotic groove that defines the genre. Blending different musical traditions and influences, Las Chanchas deliver a rich, powerful and unmistakably tropical live show.
Joining us from Peru is La Cadencia, the project of selector, researcher and content creator Néstor Sedano. Through years of digging, documenting and sharing Peru's musical heritage, La Cadencia has become a respected platform dedicated to Peruvian cumbia and huayno. Néstor is also the creator of the podcast Tremenda Ebullición, where he has spoken with many of the leading figures of Peru's popular music scene. His sets combine deep musical knowledge with dancefloor instinct, taking audiences on a journey through the rich history and vibrant present of Peruvian popular music.
Completing the line-up is Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze), guiding the dancefloor through heavy tropical rhythms, vintage Jamaican sounds and forgotten gems from across Latin America and the Caribbean, connecting the Peruvian Andes with the Colombian coast and beyond.
At the heart of the night, Stefano Cornerman (Ritmo del Barrio) continues its mission of shining a light on vintage Latin American music, with a particular passion for Peruvian cumbia (chicha), bringing together musical heritage, vinyl culture and irresistible tropical grooves.
Expect swirling psychedelic guitars, rolling percussion, deep basslines and a dancefloor full of energy until the very end.

Now in its 17th year, the Beirut Groove Collective (BGC) is a London-based collective of vinyl DJs and crate diggers behind the BGC All-Nighter – a cult clubnight dedicated to obscure and underground dancefloor records from the 1960s to the 1980s, spanning the SWANA region, Africa and beyond. Rooted in Beirut’s formative decades as a cosmopolitan musical crossroads, the night draws on pioneering records and subcultures of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. The BGC’s floor-shaking vintage sets trace sonic links across global scenes – from Arabic and African Funk, Lebanese '60s Beat and Bellydance Disco to Latin Tarab, Armenian Estradayin, Anatolian Rock, Ethiopian and Sudanese Jazz and rare Soul, Funk and Psychedelia from around the world.
This Friday 14 August, the BGC brings its deep crates to Grow for a summer edition of its clubnight with canal-side sets from DJ, compiler, NTS resident and the BGC founder, Ernesto Chahoud and DJ, music researcher and writer Natalie Shooter and guests. Join them from 7-10pm by the canal, and 10pm-2am in the club at Grow.

For our August edition of Grow Live, we’re welcoming two Grow debuts in one night: Tashkezar live in the warehouse, with Adam Baker joining us from Brussels to open and close the night from behind the decks.
ABOUT THE EVENT
One of the most exciting acts rising through the UK global music scene, Tashkezar bring psych guitars, funk-driven basslines, Balkan brass, anthemic synths and euphoric Arabic vocals into something they call Egyptian Psych Funk.
Originally from Egypt, Uzbekistan, the UK and the US, the band pull together vintage Egyptian pop, Anatolian rock, funk, Balkan rhythms, Mediterranean sounds and full-force groove into a live show built for movement. It sits somewhere between the hypnotic drive of Altın Gün, the desert psych energy of Al-Qasar, the warmth of TootArd and the raw dancefloor spirit of Dur-Dur Band, but with its own charged, joyful edge.
Fronted by Mariam, once part of Cairo’s underground music scene, Tashkezar carry a sound that feels celebratory, political, playful and full of release. Her lyrics use wordplay and wry humour to process personal and political upheaval, turning disillusionment into hope, movement and collective release.
Opening and closing the night is Adam BKR, a Brussels-based vinyl digger, DJ and curator making his Grow debut. His sets explore global grooves from the 70s to the 90s, pulling together Zouk, Cumbia, Japanese boogie, Balkan sounds, Funaná and other danceable finds from across the world.
Adam is the founder of Midnight Voodoo, a vinyl-only collective stretching musical boundaries through club nights and radio residencies on Kiosk Radio in Brussels and Radio Alhara in Palestine. In 2025, he also launched Tropic Thunder with Alex Figueira, a raw and intimate night focused on organic rhythms from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Expect heavy grooves, border-crossing records and a headline band making their Grow debut with a live set made for the floor.

DeepDig has become synonymous with handing over to selectors who know how to build a dancefloor over hours with long form sets. Harri Pepper and LA's Sky Rivers share their deep record collections.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Harri Pepper is a Welsh-born, London-based DJ, Rinse FM resident, long-standing resident and part of the 17 Little Portland Street family. Raised on the west coast of Wales in his family’s jazz café and art gallery, Peppers, his musical roots run deep, shaped by jazz, record culture and the kind of wide-open listening that comes from growing up away from the obvious club circuit.
With no local clubs nearby, Harri’s first experiences behind the decks came through free parties in the valleys and mountains of Pembrokeshire before he later moved through Bristol and into London’s underground music community. Since settling in the capital, he has become a familiar presence across some of London’s most loved dancefloors and listening spaces, including Fabric, The Love Inn, Corsica Studios, CDV, The Cause, Phonox, 17 Little Portland Street and beyond.
His reach has also extended to festival stages, with appearances at Houghton Festival, Love International, Glastonbury and Garbicz Festival. Across clubs, festivals and radio, Harri has built a reputation for warm, oddball and deeply felt selections that can move from jazz, soul and disco into house, techno, chuggy and stranger dancefloor corners without losing the thread.
Opening the night for his UK debut is LA selector Sky Rivers. After decades immersed in record culture and a long spell away from clubs, he returned to DJing in 2023 and has quickly become a regular across some of LA’s best underground parties. Expect patient, record-led sets moving through house, dub, downtempo, leftfield rhythms and psychedelic textures.
We're excited to welcome them both to Grow for another DeepDig session, where thoughtful warm-ups, extended sets and music without borders always come first.

DeepDig is a night curated by Grow, that brings some of our favourite DJs and producers to play the sets that they don’t usually get to play at bigger venues and festivals. Cosmo Sofi is a London-based, Uruguayan DJ, graphic designer, and former Worldwide FM presenter whose lifelong passion for world culture deeply informs her sound. Her highly adaptable, eclectic sets seamlessly bridge genres from jazz and soul to jungle, house, and dub, always united by a singular focus: sharing soulful music with a conscious message.
Whether crafting tailored musical journeys for sophisticated Hi-Fi listening bars, art museums, or underground raves, Sofi navigates diverse environments with ease. This versatility earned her widespread respect through her Worldwide FM show, Spectrums, secured her a 2023 Secretsundaze residency, and has led to her sharing festival stages across Europe with industry heavyweights like Gilles Peterson, Mr. Scruff, and Joe Claussell.
Oliver Night is a London-based producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist whose music moves fluidly between broken rhythms, soulful textures, house energy and hip-hop sensibility. Rooted in UK sound system culture but always forward looking, his work resists neat definitions, instead favouring feeling, groove and emotional depth.
Stepping forward with his debut album on Tru Thoughts, Between The Lines, Oliver delivers a rich, genre-spanning body of work shaped by collaboration, experimentation and community. The album features Roots Manuva, alongside KAYA FYAH, TREV, Goldbar, Megatronic, David Mrakpor (Blue Lab Beats) and Jay Phelps, each adding their own distinctive voice to the project.
Recent releases from the album have made a strong impact, landing multiple Number 1 positions on Traxsource and Juno Download, with the latest single reaching Number 4 in Traxsource’s Broken Beat chart. The album’s momentum was further cemented with a sold-out release party, where Oliver delivered a live PA that was warmly received, marking a standout moment in the project’s journey.
Whether behind the decks or performing live, Oliver brings a deep understanding of dancefloor dynamics and musical storytelling, refined over years of DJing and production. No matter the format, there’s a clear signature running through his work, thoughtful, groove-led and unmistakably his own.
Cengiz is London-based DJ, producer, and curator whose sets fuse soulful textures with raw percussive power. Deeply rooted in the UK’s broken beat, garage, and jazz-influenced dance traditions, Cengiz is more than a selector—he’s a storyteller. His signature is the seamless glide from the rich, emotive depths of jazz-fusion and bruk to the peak-time energy of big-room house and techno, all within a single set.
As a producer, Cengiz has released music on influential labels such as CoOp Presents and Dance Regular. His tracks, like the underground favourite MOTF (inspired by Norman Connors’ “Mother of the Future”) and the soulful anthem JOY featuring David Kayode, have become staples on radio, in clubs, and at festivals, supported by leading DJs across the scene such as Gilles Peterson and Jamz Supernova. Cengiz is currently working on his forthcoming full-length album project in collaboration with Wah Wah 45s.

We’re very excited to welcome Mr Bongo DJs back to Grow for a special 4-hour extended DeepDig set. After the incredible energy they brought last year, we knew we had to do it again.

This time, they return on Bank Holiday Sunday, 30 August, for a long-form journey through the full Mr Bongo sound.
Since opening as a Soho record shop in 1989, Mr Bongo has become one of the UK’s most respected names in global music, known for digging, reissuing and sharing essential sounds from Brazil, Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean and far beyond.
Behind the decks, that deep knowledge turns into soulful, high-energy dancefloor journeys. Expect rare Brazilian grooves, deep disco, modern soul, gospel, house, funk, jazz and plenty of records that move between genres with ease.
This is exactly what DeepDig is about: trusted selectors, longer sets and music that has room to breathe. Having taken the Mr Bongo sound to festivals and dancefloors around the world, this is a rare chance to hear them stretch out properly in an intimate canalside space.

Sweet Ones are back at their East London home, taking over the canalside at Grow for another evening of deep, soulful dance music.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Joining us is Donsurf, one of the UK's most exciting names in broken beat and bruk. Hailing from Leeds, his productions and DJ sets effortlessly weave together jazz, soulful house and broken rhythms, with appearances at Fabric, We Out Here and Warehouse Project earning him a reputation as one of the scene's finest selectors.
Returning to Sweet Ones is Ben Hauke, this time performing a special live set. A producer whose sound moves between bruk, house, UK funky, jazz and leftfield electronics, Ben's releases on Far Out Recordings, Church and Woop Records, alongside collaborations with artists including King Krule and Katy B, have made him one of London's most distinctive musical voices. Expect deep percussion, warm textures and plenty of soul.
Holding it all together are Sweet Ones residents KANE + KOMANCHE, guiding the night through deep house, broken rhythms, soulful electronics and timeless dancefloor records.
Set against the backdrop of Grow Hackney, one of East London's most loved independent grassroots venues, expect canalside sunsets, an intimate warehouse dancefloor and a community built around music, connection and discovery.

When Alessandro Corda and David met at the jam, they immediately realised they shared the same passion for music and had similar values. Alex, a versatile musician, DJ, and producer, and a regular at London’s jams and host of a couple, offered to work closely with David. Not only did he manage the stage, but he also contributed behind the scenes, taking the jam to the next level.

Every week, Stratos dives into both the classic roots and boundary-pushing edges of jazz, creating a unique space where improvisation and connection take centre stage. With Rio Kai on bass, Dom Pusey on saxophone,Mike De Souza on guitar, and Zoe Pascal on drums, each set offers something new—a true celebration of live, evolving music.

DeepDig's September event brings two London favourites, Patrick Forge and Cosmo Sofi, for a night that fully captures the sound and spirit of the series.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Patrick Forge leads the night with an extended 4-hour session, bringing the kind of musical knowledge and dancefloor instinct that has made him such an important figure in London’s jazz, rare groove, broken beat and soulful dance music scenes. From Dingwalls with Giles Peterson and Kiss FM to NTS and dancefloors across the world, Patrick has always joined the dots between rhythm, feeling, history and movement.
Cosmo Sofi sets the tone on the terrace, bringing a soulful, wide-reaching approach rooted in warmth, curiosity and discovery. Her selections move naturally between sounds from different times and places, travelling through a wide spectrum of sound, always tied together by feeling and groove.
Together, both artists bring genre-blurring journeys through music from across the globe, connecting the space through deep selections, patience and flow. This is exactly what DeepDig is built for: long-form sets, deep listening and selectors who know how to take the room somewhere special.

SkA JaMaIcA brings together some of the finest musicians in UK ska, reggae and jazz, led by world-renowned keyboardist, producer and musical director Clifton “Bigga” Morrison, whose credits include Freddie McGregor, Aswad, John Holt and The Ruff Cutt Band, alongside drummer Daniel Crosby.
The son of jazz activist Gary Crosby, Daniel has been performing professionally since the age of 11 and has built a 30-year career across jazz, reggae, ska, soul and beyond. His credits include The Selecter, Jazz Jamaica, Courtney Pine, Goldie, The Brand New Heavies, Ziggy Marley, Amy Winehouse, Ernest Ranglin and many more.
The band also features guitarist Alan Weekes, a highly respected player once praised by Ernest Ranglin himself. Together, SkA JaMaIcA delivers a heavyweight live set rooted in ska, reggae and jazz, played by musicians with deep history, serious pedigree and real feeling.

It’s kind of crazy to think we’re here again, celebrating another birthday. Twelve years tucked away in our little corner of the Grow Studios warehouse, building things slowly, carefully and with a DIY spirit from day one.
Grow started as an experiment. Could an independent venue challenge the status quo and put people, planet and culture before profit? Twelve years later, we’re proud to still be here, still doing things our own way, and still grounded in the same morals and ethics that shaped the space from the beginning
Over the years, Grow has evolved through the people who have worked here, played here, danced here, eaten here, listened here and helped bring the venue to life. Our cultural programme has grown with that energy, shaped by the artists, musicians, collectives and promoters we’ve been lucky enough to work with along the way. From grassroots live music and jazz to forward-thinking club nights, deep listening sessions and community gatherings, the programme has always been about creativity, connection and the feeling of music in a room.
ABOUT THE EVENT
On Saturday 18th July, we’re celebrating with a full day and night of live music, DJs, great food, drinks and a few surprises along the way, running from the afternoon right through until 2am.
Live music comes from Olayá, a female-led flute and percussion band inspired by the bandas de pífanos of Northeastern Brazil. Their sound brings together bamboo flutes, rich vocal harmonies, bass, driving percussion and the joyful pulse of Brazilian forró, moving between rootsy dance music and lush, more reflective moments.
Across the day and night, the DJs will take things through percussive grooves, disco, Latin heat, rare records and deep dancefloor selections.
Zag Erlat, the person behind My Analog Journal, joins with a deep record bag spanning high-energy grooves, disco classics and unshazamable gems from the early 70s to the late 90s. Norsicaa brings her wide-reaching global sound, shaped by years at Sounds of the Universe, Soundway Records and now her own label, Sama Sama.
CSGRV brings soulful, rhythmic selections with a focus on movement, feeling and connection, while Peruben digs into golden cumbia, psychedelic Peruvian chicha and Latin grooves from the Andes to the Pacific coast.
We’ll also be joined by Williams Cumberbache, master percussionist and the heartbeat behind our weekly Canalside Sessions, whose playing and curation have helped shape so much of Grow’s sound by the water.
Expect live music, heavy grooves, global rhythms, canal-side energy and the full Grow flavour from start to finish.

Sweetnighter is a monthly party in London/Naples created by SweetNightJoe, aka Joseph Russell. It’s a celebration of music and connection through the love of vinyl - an open dancefloor for global grooves: disco, jazz, funk, soul, and beyond, all played strictly on wax.
ABOUT THE EVENT
This July edition marks our second and final summer party of the year, and we couldn’t ask for a better spot than Grow in Hackney Wick, right by the beautiful canal!
We’re very excited to welcome back the incredible Italian duo from Naples, Danger Boys, aka Whodamanny & Milord for their third appearance at Sweetnighter!
Things kick off outside by the canal at 6pm. At 10pm, we move the party indoors, until 2am.

We're inviting you to experience the magic of our weekly Thursday Jazz Jam.
Since 2016, Stratos, our resident jazz band led by the talented and Mercury Prize-nominated Rio Kai, has held down this popular night, bringing together fans and musicians for an electrifying exploration of jazz.
Every week, Stratos dives into both the classic roots and boundary-pushing edges of jazz, creating a unique space where improvisation and connection take centre stage. With Rio Kai on bass, Dom Pusey on saxophone,Mike De Souza on guitar, and Zoe Pascal on drums, each set offers something new—a true celebration of live, evolving music.
After the first set, they open up the jam to jazz musicians who want to get involved! Contact Stratos on Instagram if you’re interested in jamming. Entry is free for jammers.

A vinyl collector and groove-led selector, Ryan digs deep into disco, funk, house, reggae, jazz and beyond, bringing together uplifting rarities, soulful stompers and dancefloor gems with plenty of warmth and energy.
As part of the team behind East London venues Village Underground and EartH, Ryan’s taste is rooted in music that moves both body and soul. From old 45s to new 12"s, dusty deep cuts to playful rhythms, his sets lean into the high-spirited side of things.
Regularly found carrying a heavy crate of wax around the city, Ryan has played across London’s listening bars and club spaces, including Grow, Jazu, NT’s Loft, Cafe 1001, Mad Cats and more.

SPECIAL GUEST - BENET MCLEAN
Benet McLean is a UK jazz violinist, pianist and composer known for his expressive, genre-crossing approach to contemporary jazz. Classically trained from childhood and tutored by Yehudi Menuhin, he first made his name on the London jazz scene as a pianist before returning to violin as his main creative voice.
His sound brings together hard bop, bebop, blues, groove, soul and modern improvisation, pushing the violin into fresh territory with energy, swing and feeling. Benet has worked across jazz, soul and contemporary music with artists including Laura Mvula, Mahalia, Omar, Julian Joseph, Soweto Kinch, Orphy Robinson, Cleveland Watkiss and Maxi Jazz/Faithless.
His acclaimed album Green Park captures his violin-led approach, blending deep musicianship with warmth, rhythm and a strong connection to the wider UK jazz tradition.

ABOUT THE EVENT
Rohan Rakhit and Donutstep into an extended five-hour session, a format that allows their shared language to unfold without constraint. Regular collaborators and part of the team behind the First Light show on Worldwide FM, and now holding a new residency at Tate Modern, the pair have built a natural chemistry behind the decks.
Rohan, a key figure within the DAYTIMERS collective, brings a deeply rooted, cross-cultural approach to his selections. Alongside him, Donut runs his own parties and soundsystem, Shortlist, bringing that same energy into the booth with an instinctive, wide-reaching ear.
Together, they are a real match, a tour de force unrestricted by genre, able to move fluidly through soulful house, percussive rhythms, deeper club sounds and beyond, traversing sounds and moods with ease. Often heard together in South London, this is a rare chance to experience them stretching out in East, in Hackney Wick, with the time and space to really open things up. A real summer time treat shaped with patience, intuition and trust in the room.
Out on the terrace, Sophopens from early evening, setting the tone as the light fades. Co-founder of SisterMidnightand founder of the Social Records Society collective, as well as a producer of First Light, her work sits close to the grassroots, grounded in care, community and building spaces that last. Her selections lean into warmth and openness, creating a gentle entry point into the night before the deeper dive begins inside.

A new chapter from The People, The Place lands with a line-up rooted in London’s most soulful corners. Built on community, collaboration and creative independence, their parties have quickly become a meeting point for dancers, listeners and artists moving with intention.

Beringei guides the night with a sound that moves between the ethereal and the rhythmic. His sets and productions tap into something deeper, whether it’s music to drift through or moments that pull people closer together on the floor. It’s about connection in its purest form.
Co-curator Footshooter brings his unmistakable blend of broken beat, jazz and house, shaped through years of radio, live performance and collaboration across London’s underground. Fresh from releases on Tru Thoughts and collaborations with artists like Allysha Joy, his output continues to stretch across scenes while staying rooted in a soulful, forward-facing sound. His sets carry that same balance of musicality and movement.
Joining them is special guest Ruby Francis, whose rich, self-produced catalogue draws from ‘00s R&B and neo-soul, layered with warmth, groove and emotional depth. From crafting her own records to shaping intimate, late-night selections, there’s a clarity and independence to her sound that cuts through, equally suited to the stage and the dancefloor.

When Alessandro Corda and David met at the jam, they immediately realised they shared the same passion for music and had similar values. Alex, a versatile musician, DJ, and producer, and a regular at London’s jams and host of a couple, offered to work closely with David. Not only did he manage the stage, but he also contributed behind the scenes, taking the jam to the next level.

Mucho Soul return for their second Soul On The Canal Side of Summer 2026, bringing another afternoon into late night journey from sunshine terrace grooves to deep house and disco after dark, with one of their strongest line ups to date.

Now nine years into their collaboration with Grow, Mucho Soul have once again pulled together a line up of experienced musical tastemakers. From 4pm, the Canal Side Terrace eases into the day with soul, rare groove, funk, boogie and sunshine jazz. From 10pm, things move indoors as the tempo lifts, rolling through deep house, disco and late night energy into the early hours.
Rocky (X-Press 2) B2B Ross Allen (NTS)
A rare back to back from two of London’s finest musical tastemakers. Rocky has been DJing for over 30 years, from soul, jazz, rare groove and hip hop beginnings through to acid house, Balearic culture and a long global run with X-Press 2 alongside Diesel and Ashley Beedle.
Ross Allen has spent decades at the heart of UK music culture, DJing around the world, playing with artists including Sade, Massive Attack, Portishead and Zero 7, and hosting influential radio shows across the BBC, Ministry of Sound, Mi-Soul, NTS and Soho Radio. His A&R and label work has also connected him with artists including Chaka Khan, Goldie, Amy Winehouse, Talvin Singh and Lady Blackbird.
Kev Beadle
Kev Beadle has been pushing music rooted in jazz and soul since his pirate radio and club days in the mid 1980s. A hugely respected DJ, selector and compiler, his sets span the obscure and the familiar, new talent and deep history, with appearances at Dingwalls, The Wag, We Out Here, Southport Weekender, Suncebeat and beyond.
Emma Noble and Sophie Heath are a vinyl DJ duo bringing proper music for proper dancing. Their sets move through soul, funk, jazz, gospel and disco with real energy, warmth and mischief. Regulars across London’s underground soul and disco scenes, they have played Faith, KOKO, XOYO, Ronnie Scott’s, The Jazz Cafe, Glastonbury, Field Day, Cross The Tracks and more.
Si Kurrage
Si Kurrage is a West London DJ, event producer and dedicated vinyl digger with over 30 years behind the decks. Co-founder of Size Doesn’t Matter, former creative force at Mulletover and host of Stranger Tings on Point Blank Radio, Si plays across disco, house, funk, soul, reggae, jungle, breaks and beyond, mixing classics, obscurities and party records with serious instinct.
Mucho Soul
Since 2001, Mucho Soul have built a reputation for quality across jazz, funk, reggae, broken beat and house. Their Canal Side sessions at Grow have become a summer staple, drawing dancers year after year with deep selections, a wide musical reach and a terrace in full swing.

We’re showing ENGLAND V DR CONGO at Grow this Wednesday, with doors open from 12pm ahead of the 5pm kick-off.
We’re not turning into a full sports bar for the day, and we’re not pretending it’ll be wall-to-wall football chaos. Think of it as a more relaxed place to watch the game by the canal, with cold drinks, food, shade and a calmer atmosphere away from the madness.

CSGRV is a DJ, curator and programmer with a curious ear for music across a wide spectrum of sounds and cultures. Drawn to soulful, rhythmic music with real feeling. His sets move fluidly, guided by energy, movement and connection on the dancefloor.
Always playing to the room and locking into the right vibe, CSGRV has built a reputation for knowing exactly what a dancefloor needs. Whether it’s an all-night session, intimate club space or high-energy party, his selections balance deep cuts, timeless grooves and unexpected turns that keep people moving from start to finish.
As the booker and programmer behind Grow and previously Village Underground’s Superstition series, CSGRV curates a broad musical programme while also leading the venue’s in-house series rooted in deep listening, community and forward-thinking sound. You are in good hands to close off the festival and keep it dancing to 2am.

The afterparty begins at 22:00. From this time onwards, entry will be £10 and available only on the door.
Festival wristband holders receive free entry and re-entry all day until 22:00, and can remain in the venue for the afterparty free of charge.
If you are already inside the venue before 22:00, you are welcome to stay for the afterparty at no extra cost. However, if you leave the venue after 22:00, you will need to pay £10 to re-enter unless you have a festival wristband.

This time we welcome Leanne Wright (Moonlighting), one of London’s most respected selectors and 1/3 of the Moonlighting family. Known for deeply musical sets that move effortlessly through soulful house, boogie, rare groove and broken rhythm, Leanne brings a warmth and energy to the dancefloor that feels both rooted and forward moving. Whether playing all-night sessions, festival stages or intimate rooms, her selections always land with dancers in mind.

Leanne Wright is a London based DJ and selector whilst forming 1/3 of Moonlighting, known for soulful, deeply dug sets spanning house, boogie, rare groove and broken beat. A respected presence across London’s underground dance music community, her approach blends musical knowledge with an instinctive understanding of the dancefloor, equally at home in intimate late-night spaces and larger festival settings.
Gilla & Russ Ryan
Founders and residents of Overjoyed, Gilla & Russ Ryan play across soul, rare groove, house, lovers rock, R&B and broken beat. From warehouse parties to festival stages and sessions alongside the GI Roadshow at Notting Hill Carnival, their sets are rooted in deep selections, proper sound systems and dancefloors that stay moving into the early hours.

Curated by DJ Cengiz, the event brings together rhythmic innovation and soulful energy, creating a dancefloor experience that is both healing and electrifying. It's a space where bruk, soul, house, jazz and global latin percussive sounds collide, all carefully selected to move both the body and the spirit.
WheelUP, the moniker of West London producer, DJ, and “bruk renaissance” torchbearer Danny Wheeler, has become a key figure in the new wave of broken beat. With releases on CoOperation Records, Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce, and his home label Tru Thoughts - as well as remixes for Goldie’s Fallen Tree 1Hundred and Wah Wah 45s - he has firmly established his place in the genre’s next generation.
On stage, WheelUP has lit up iconic venues and festivals including Hootananny Brixton, Shambala, Lost Village, Love Supreme, We Out Here, Kendal Calling, and Worldwide Sète. As a DJ, he's headlined at Spiritland and Café 1001, with standout appearances at Brick Lane Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, Worldwide Festival, Everybody Loves the Weekend, Stowaway Festival, and a support slot for Groove Armada at KOKO. His club night, WheelUP Presents, has hosted key broken beat tastemakers like Jamz Supernova and Ben Hauke. A former Balamii resident, he continues to make waves on the airwaves with recent mixes for Mellotron, Defected, Radio 1001, and The Boat Pod, and a guest appearance on Rinse FM with Drifty—which led to the launch of their joint club night, SameSame.
Entek is a North London based French producer, musician and Wolrd #2 finger drummer! He is a member of the Selectors Assemble, releases music under the CoOp Presents label and he is a part of the Orii Jam Community house band.
Cengiz is a London based DJ, record collector and producer, originally from Istanbul, who has been releasing music under CoOp Presents and Dance Regular labels, his latest release JOY has seen support from radio heavy weights such as Gilles Peterson and Jamz Supernova. Cengiz is also the curator of "Bruk Therapy" nights.

A full night of live rhythm, psychedelic textures and global dancefloor energy, as Jinjé brings A Brief Utopia to the floor in full band form, with support on the decks from Kamar and Earthly Measures.
ABOUT THE EVENT
A Brief Utopia began as a shift in direction for Jinjé, stepping away from the studio and into a more physical, instinct-led way of making music, rooted in live drumming and percussion. What followed has grown into a full live project, built alongside a cast of heavyweight musicians, blending tuned percussion, live drums and psychedelic synth work into something vivid, rhythmic and alive.
On stage, it moves with intent. A colourful, high-energy performance that draws on sounds from across the world, shaped through improvisation and tight musicianship, built equally for the dancefloor and the moment. Since its beginnings on Scene Unseen, the project has expanded into a full LP with Earthly Measures, bringing even more depth and movement into the sound.
Jinjé’s wider catalogue has picked up support from the likes of Jon Hopkins, Max Cooper and Gerd Janson, alongside plays across Radio 1, 6 Music and beyond. Before that, as part of Vessels, he spent years touring internationally, taking in festivals from Glastonbury to Sonar, shaping a sound that has always balanced electronic depth with live energy. A Brief Utopia feels like a natural evolution of that path, more direct, more physical, and built to be experienced in the room.
If you’re into the likes of Floating Points in full live mode, Jon Hopkins, Max Cooper or the more rhythm-led edges of artists like Nicola Cruz and Dengue Dengue Dengue, Jinjé’s A Brief Utopia will land heavy. Rooted in live percussion, jazz influence and global rhythms, it sits somewhere between club music and live ensemble energy. This is a serious one for the Grow community, a rare chance to catch something this immersive and rhythm-driven in the room. Not one to miss.
Closing the night, Kamar brings a deeply rooted and wide-reaching approach to the dancefloor, shaped through years of digging, travel and connection to global sound. A resident on Worldwide FM, his ‘Tealeaves’ show explores music through migration, reflecting a sound that moves fluidly across borders and traditions.
His sets are built on rhythm and feeling, connecting dub, synth-led sounds and percussive club music from the Americas through to the SWANA region and beyond. It’s a style grounded in deep knowledge but always tuned to the room, creating a sense of flow across genres, cultures and tempos.
Kamar has played everywhere from Glastonbury and We Out Here to Phonox, Brilliant Corners and Jumbi, and has appeared across NTS, Rinse FM and My Analogue Journal. Through his party far.corners, he continues to push a sound centred on discovery and exchange, always digging deeper into the global underground.

Exciting and unpredictable, it blends the sonic textures and bass weight of electronic music with the warmth and feel that only live musicians can provide, all held together by Greg's distinctive woodwind arrangements. This exclusive show celebrates the launch of his new release, 'Voices Through The Wall' on XVI Records. Check out the first single, 'Instruction Manual Raps (feat. Greg’s band pulls in a tight circle of players from across London’s jazz and underground scenes. Support comes from the Leeds-born, South London-based producer Wonky Logic. A mainstay on the London jazz scene, you'll have seen him performing with the likes of Steam Down, Chiminyo, Nala Sinephro, Shabaka Hutchings and many more. His colourful beats are packed with off-kilter grooves, buzzy synths and jazzy harmony.

A unique musical experience that breaks the mould. David (The Orbalist, Hackney Rhythm) hosts a jam that is accessible for everyone—no more pay-to-play, no more rehearsed sets. A space where synths, sequencers, MPCs, and E-drums harmonise with guitars, basses, keys, and acoustic drums.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
When Alessandro Corda and David met at the jam, they immediately realised they shared the same passion for music and had similar values. Alex, a versatile musician, DJ, and producer, and a regular at London’s jams and host of a couple, offered to work closely with David. Not only did he manage the stage, but he also contributed behind the scenes, taking the jam to the next level.
Join us on the first Sunday of each month. Admission is free and safe and welcoming to the newcomer or seasoned performer. Whether you’re a keyboard virtuoso, a beatmaker, or a storyteller with a voice, this jam is for you. Bring your passion and your open mind. Our stage has hosted the tentative strumming of novice guitarists, the mesmerising loops of experienced producers, and the raw vocals of singers discovering their voices. From Charlie Stacey to Qoha or George The Poet, our stage has welcomed talented artists from various disciplines, including regulars: Alex Mike The Mic, Freddie Mpanga, Nico (MoorMoor), Conor Larkin, Matt Duduryn, Tom Caton, Richard Castle, Simon (Koyoka), and many others who come together to share their music experience, celebrate their progress, enhance growth, and enjoy each other - keeping eclecticism our flagship. The NTUJ session is a sandbox for sonic exploration, where David conducts, orchestrates, and brings people together. Here, musical boundaries dissolve, genres intertwine, and magic is born. Bring your instruments, synths, drum machines, unconventional gear, and curiosity.
