Book Dash has now distributed five million books to children across South Africa!
Book Dash printed 675 000 books in our annual partner print run, which led us to another jaw dropping milestone: 5 million books!
In 2024/2025, we delivered books to 176 partner organisations across South Africa and in Lesotho and Eswatini that work in Early Childhood Development (ECD), literacy and healthcare; and reached approximately 200,000 children.
Books spark stories—and over the years, we’ve been inspired by the incredible stories shared by our partners and the children they reach. Watch the video above for some of the stories sparked by the five million books we’ve sent into the world.
Of course, we only want to do more! We want every child to benefit from owning books. The Book Dash model and our network of creative superheroes mean we have the books to do it, and at a fraction of the cost it would have been otherwise. We hear from partners and donors that they see Book Dash books everywhere! But it’s not only about quantity — partners report that the quality of the books means that they’re making a huge difference to the children who receive them, the families and homes they go into and the quality of early education programmes across the country.
