Guidelines:
1. The California Jersey Cattle Association Scholarship is providing one (1) one thousand dollar ($1000.00) scholarship.
2. Applicants must come from a dairy industry background from the state of California.
3. Students must be high school seniors or continuing college students, either majoring in a Bachelor of Science degree program at a college or university. Major or program concentrations do not need to deal directly with the dairy cows but do need to be leading toward a career in the dairy industry.
4. No minimum grade point average is required to apply.
5. A committee will select the winner and alternate based upon financial need, background and career objectives in the dairy industry; dairy and university activities; grade point average; and personal characteristics such as citizenship, leadership, and character.
6. Two letters of recommendation are desired for the evaluation of applicants by the selection committee.
7. The recipient must be enrolled to receive award. The alternate will be asked for proof of enrollment if the winner cannot comply with this request.
8. Complete applications and letter of recommendations need to be sent to the California Jersey Cattle Association. If submitted by mail applications must be postmarked no later than January 24. If submitted via e-mail/online form applications must be time stamped no later than
January 24, 11:59 PST.
