Save the Affordable Connectivity Program

Internet access for 23 million families is at risk if Congress doesn't act.

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) was the only federal program that helped lower-income families afford high-speed internet and devices. Over one in six Americans relied on the ACP to get online and stay online.

Unfortunately, the ACP ran out of funding in June of 2024 , causing families across the country to pay more for internet service, with many losing connectivity altogether.

That's why we are calling for additional ACP funding immediately. Not only would this funding allow the ACP to continue helping the millions of families who rely on it, it would also give policymakers time to come up with a plan to fund the program permanently.

We need to work together to keep the ACP funded. Learn more below about the many ways the ACP is improving lives across the country, and then email Congress to take action!

An independent voice for kids, families, and schools everywhere.

Common Sense is a nonprofit organization giving kids, families, and schools the tools to make informed choices about media and technology. Families know us for our independent, age-based reviews of movies, TV shows, books, games, podcasts and apps. Educators use our free curriculum and edtech reviews to plan lessons and integrate technology into their teaching practice. At our core, we are a children's advocacy group. We draw on original research, industry expertise, and community partnerships to advocate for laws and policies that help kids thrive.
