Hi! My name is Herbert, and I am an author and speaker. My books, Creative Doing<\/em><\/a> and The Consistency Journal<\/em><\/a> encourage people to embrace the messy, joyful process of creating with purpose and impact. In my recent speech for Creative Mornings<\/a>, I explored the definition of creative commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have worked with organizations such as Figma, Shopify, and Skillshare on marketing. I am the editor of The World According to Kanye<\/a><\/em>, which was featured at Hypebeast, The FADER, and Complex. I also hosted Prologue<\/a>, a video series where recording artists like Ty Dolla $ign, Post Malone, and A$AP Ferg talk about the early days of their creative journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After graduating university, I started writing at Medium<\/a>. I wanted to practice writing more, which led me to dive into how we think, how we make stuff, what we believe in, how to become self-reliant, and how each of us make the most of the short time we have on this planet. This has led to me starting to write for publications like Forge<\/a> and Marker<\/a>. My favourite articles with them include my coverage of Yeezy Gap<\/a>, my approach to deep work<\/a>, and how to make progress on meaningful things with little time<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wanted to create my own platform where I could write online, so I started this blog. It\u2019s my archive for all my writing, and a lab where I can experiment with my own writing process. Outside of this blog, I have written for The Globe and Mail, Fast Company, TIME, The Huffington Post, Quartz, and several other outlets. I also used to be a staff writer for Lifehacker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
