Equipping Pastors to Recapture the Evangelical Political Imagination
“… seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper”
— Jeremiah 29:7
The j29 Coalition is a network of theologically conservative pastors seeking to disciple the American Evangelical church in kingdom-shaped politics.
WHAT WE DO

Curate resources for clergy and congregations.
Connect pastors with opportunities for care, coaching and connection.
Pastors need encouragement, support, and training on how to flourish during politically divisive times. J29 Cohort can help.
Pastoral ministry has been more challenging in recent years than ever before. As our civic life has deteriorated, pastors are one group that has been affected the most. Do you need a trusted group to help you navigate the difficulty of leading during this politically divisive time? Do you want to learn how to better disciple your congregation through these tumult? All pastors serving in congregations dealing with any level of political division or confusion are eligible to apply. J29 Cohort is open to women and men from all denominations, but our focus is on those who self-identify as theologically conservative and evangelical. Most of our presenters will come from conservative evangelical spaces.

In our weekly cohort meetings, j29 coaches will present on topics related to leading well in this politically divided time. Through our coaching sessions, we aim to equip pastors to:
Recognize political idolatry and articulate why it is a kingdom problem;
Shepherd their communities with curiosity rather than judgment; and
Cultivate a Christian vision of citizenship and identify practices that form kingdom-shaped political engagement.
-
We will limit the entire cohort to 25 participants. Space is limited, so register here to claim your spot.
Each cohort participant will be placed in a small group of about 5 people to process key ideas and teachings throughout the experience.
