Raiden held a small satchel in his arms as he walked the halls of the Sky Temple, heading towards Kojin’s space. It had been a few weeks since they'd rescued him and he knew his brother was still having troubles processing the experience of his captivity. He wasn't certain how to further help the young god, but a conversation from shortly after his own recovery in the Jinsei had finally reached a point where he could act upon it.
Even though Kojin had an open-door policy with his own private space within the Temple, Raiden still stopped at the door and gave a knock that would resound into the deeper spaces of Kojin's abode. There was silence, but Raiden didn't call out, waiting for a bit until the door finally slid open. Kojin was trying to put on a brave face.
"Hey, Raiden, what's up?” He sounded tired, exhausted, like he hadn't rested or slept in a while. Raiden could only lower the brim of his hat briefly to shield any chance of a troubled expression before he gently held out the bag in his hands to Kojin.
"Takeda Takahashi mentioned that you were interested in learning the healing arts. I hope you will forgive the delay, but I had to translate some of the texts and my own notes into modern dialects. I have pulled some of my introductory scrolls and when you are done, I'm preparing some tools to help you get hands-on practice with the magic. It's going to take some time to master but -” Raiden pauses as he pulls out a scroll to hand to Kojin, seeing the fire god's eyes well up with tears. He's not certain if he's misjudged the situation even as Kojin throws his arms around Raiden's massive arms and weeps into the thunder god's shoulder.
“I - I'm sorry if I've upset you, brother.” Raiden stands there awkwardly, afraid to drop the precious bag of scrolls which keep him from moving his own hands.
"No, no. I'm not mad.” Kojin sniffles, finally releasing Raiden, who stays standing there. “I just - I couldn't help them when they were hurt, but now I'll be able to do what you and Fujin do. Thank you.” Raiden's uncertain posture relaxes slightly as he holds out the bag of scrolls and Kojin takes it, hugging it to his chest.
"These are all copies I made for you, so don't worry about adding your own notes to them. I figure it should take about a week to read everything, and I'll be ready to have you demonstrate some of that knowledge. You can ask me any questions before then, though.” Raiden gave Kojin a shy, thin-lipped smile, still looking uncertain if he's done the right thing, but Kojin reaches forward with one hand this time and wraps it around Raiden's shoulder. The thunder god reaches up his own hand and sets it on Kojin's shoulder.
"This means more to me than you know, Raiden. Thanks.” The glow in Raiden's eyes warms to a deep blue, glad that this might help his brother by giving him something productive to focus his energies into.
“Let me know when you're ready, and get some rest if you can.” Kojin gave a shy nod of his own as he watched Raiden turn and walk down the hallway, leaving him with his parcel of knowledge.
