For the people who cares to know, anti corruption protests were held today in the Philippines both at Luneta Park and at the People Power Monument in light of the Filipinos discovering that our taxes that had been bleeding us dry had been going to the pockets of our politicians and their offensively extravagant and Marie Antoinette esque families and not to the betterment of our country's healthcare, infrastructure or flood control projects.
Unfortunately there are now reports of police firing on the protesters at PPM and one video has surfaced of the cops dragging a dead body and throwing it to the ground.

hi, filipino here. just want to say that our independence day is june 12, not july 4. july 4 is when the united states government decided that they would recognize our freedom, specifically because it is your independence day and they wanted to cement their cultural hegemony over our country. and because of their influence on our country this was recognized for a time as our independence day. we still commemorate it, but i hope you can understand why we don’t want our independence day to be associated so closely with our former colonizer. it wasn’t even a work holiday for us.
june 12 is the day that we filipinos declared our own independence for ourselves, and that is what we celebrate as independence day

normally i’m not really into alien/human hybrids because of how extremely improbable they are, but due to some story spoilers it looks like a good part of the fandom is considering this lol.
i approached this like the liger/tigon thing on earth, where the sex of the parents influences what comes out. i didn’t want them to look too human because that would be kind of lame. xD
- both types have fully separated fingers, angaran legs & feet, angaran chests (no boobs bro), and their skin color is derived from their angara parent. eye color can come from either parent, and pupils are rounder.
- human-born have no head ridges, small brow, but do have a belly button. they can maybe grow hair?? i dunno if i like it but i tried it out. obviously hair color would come from human parent.
- angara-born have smoother ridges, and less pronounced brow. they look very similar to regular angara, just a little slimmer/smaller and different eyes.
