VISITING IN LATE JUNE IS EVEN BETTER.
Just outside Santa Fe, you'll find Bandelier National Monument, which protects historic cliff dwellings and frequently hosts cultural demonstrations throughout the year. On the opposite side of the country, you might be surprised to discover Miccosukee and Seminole culture in South Florida. Beyond the urban sprawl of Miami, Everglades National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve offer a nature-based escape and a window into Indigenous life. Visit the Everglades National Park's Shark Valley section, and you'll find the Miccosukee Indian Village nearby. It's one of the last places where you can witness alligator wrestling—a thrilling demonstration rooted in tradition. Originally a hunting technique, it became a tourist fascination in the 20th century. Today, it's a preserved cultural practice shared with visitors. (No alligators are harmed.) Just across the road, take…

Stories From the Road
This summer, we planned to see the Grand Tetons—but we didn't plan to follow a roadside sign for “World's Best Huckleberry Ice Cream” deep into rural Idaho. BRIGGS FARM BLUES FESTIVAL THE BEST WEEKEND OF THE YEAR
Sitting under a canopy of trees, illuminated by incandescent lights strung above the aisle leading to a clapboard stage, I got it. Great blues music was flowing, people swaying to the catchable beat with each thwack of a drumstick, and the air of "chill" was palpable. The Back Porch stage, built from mismatched barnwood, only enhanced the sounds that echoed from the tin-covered eaves. The talent on that stage was some of the best blues I’ve ever seen, complete with cigar-box guitars and old-fashioned washboards. And this was just the beginning. We were invited to attend what is dubbed the “Best Weekend of the Year”; The Briggs Farm Blues Festival in Nescopeck, Pennsylvania. This is festival unlike any other. Sure, it’s a party, but it's also a place to unwind,…

UNCOVERING A GEM IN THE HEART OF THE MIDWEST
When you think about Iowa, what's the first thing that comes to mind? It may be corn, prairies and flat land, not a typical must-see for your RV travels. Iowa falls on the list of one of the least-visited states. What if I told you there's a reason to put Iowa on your RV travel map, and that reason is a charming little town in Iowa just outside of West Des Moines? I'm here to inform you that you will long to come back and visit more. Take a short drive from I-80 to this off-the-beaten-path, amazing place: Madison County in Southern Iowa. Last year we did just that on our RV travels. As we headed out west with a few weeks to spare, we started investigating cities in Iowa.…
