Icons & Icon Tutorial

Yes, melchett, I am humouring you.

And, the Tutorial.
How to make this.

WARNING: Yes, I add U's. And stuff. If it isn't understandable...well...comment. Unles it's complaining about my use of U's in "colour/color".

1) Jack a picture, use the Crop Tool set to 100px by 100px, get your loverly base.

2) Sharpen.

3) Duplicate your base. (Right click on layer>>Duplicate Layer)

4) Desaturate (Shift+Control+U) the duplicate, and set the layer to Soft Light, 100% Opacity, 100% Fill. Merge the layers. (Shift+Control+E)

5) Take your Text Tool , for reference, my settings look like this:

Splather some text. In my case, it says "PASSION"

Add some more text above that, this time in 10pt Minion, which reads "Possessed by the"

Under "PASSION", we put some more lyrics, at 2pt Minion. Nice decorative stuff.

5.5) I had to put a drop shadow on my text (right click text layer>>Blending options) at 1 distance, 0 spread and 0 size. THEN I had to duplicate all those text layers to get them to show the way I wanted to. But you may not have to.

6) I decide the upper right corner is boring. I go back to my original image, crop a random part of her face and paste it in. Drag it under the Original Base doodad.

7) Select the Original base, and create a Layer Mask;

Dunno what that is? In short, when you're on the Layer Mask (the white square beside the mini image in a layer) Black erase stuff, white brings stuff out of erasedness. Experiment with it one day, it's usefull.

8) Erase away a blob in the corner.

Play with brush opacity and whiten/bring back some of the image, take some away again, etc. Twitch a bit, repeat until satisfied.

9) Duplicate the layer with the image that is in the top corner. (You should have gotten the hang of the duplication bit.) Desaturate (Shift+Control+U) the duplicate, and set the layer to Soft Light, 100% Opacity, 100% Fill.

10) On the Desaturated copy of the corner image, erase the part that makes her eye a little less colourful. (If you don't know what the eraser tool is, for shame.)

11) Create a new layer. (Shift+Control+N)

12) Eyedrop a colour from her big creepy eye. With a 3px brush (or whatever fits) brush over the colour of her eye.

Set this layer to Colour Dodge, 48% Opacity, 100% Fill. (Though if you aren't doing the exact same thing as me - which you better not be, mess around with the settings. It's until YOU'RE satisfied, not I.)

13) Merge (Shift+Control+E) and save as prefered setting. In my case, .PNG.

With time everyone will come to know that my favourite SM character is Sailor Moon/Bunny herself. Close seconds are Venus/Minako and Pluto. My fave OTP is BunnyxManoru.

And my fave evil guy is Quartz, or the really gay guy who likes Zoicite or whatever. It's Néphrite in french. Jade, Rubis, Néphrite et Quartz.

Anyways, loads of shiny icons. 7 in fact. I like bright colours/warm colours. Kthnx.

Because Teh Jills made some Nefer icons, I made some Evey icons. Unfortunately I ran across Ardeth on the way and had to ogle. So sexy.

There are reasons I don't go outside. This is one of them: My lovely neighbour Sharon calls and asks if she can borrow an egg. I of course say No Problem! And find my bathrobe and flip flops to go outside and hand a cold white thing over the fence. Now, it's fluffies season. What are fluffies? I'm not quite sure where they come from. Probably the trees. They're little white fluffy things that float in the air and get into everything. Like our pool. Or, in my case; while I was chatting, I was attacked by a fluffy. IT WENT DOWN MY THROAT. IT'S STILL THERE. OMG. It's so unnerving to be talking and suddenly be choking on a horrid tasting fluffball. I was spitting all the way back into my house.

In other news, my pool is at 80 Degrees C! Hooray! Swimming time!

Must go rent the Mummy I & II.
