Preston Endicott, Jr. was hated by most of the staff at his book publishing house. At least until he turned up dead in his locked office in this debut of the Taylor Browning Cozy Mystery series. Taylor, the new mystery editor at the Santa Fe, New Mexico book publisher, sees plenty of possible perps right in the office suite. But the employees are hardly the only people to count as suspects. Dominique Boucher, their bestselling author, just submitted her latest manuscript. It’s a locked-room mystery with a similar story line to the real life puzzle. His ex-wife wasn’t a fan either. And there is the matter of a large inheritance: a successful company and many financial assets. Who stands to gain the most? Detective Victor Sanchez is assigned to uncover the killer. His crime-solving style manages to irritate just about everyone on his lengthy person of interest list. But he secretly hopes the editor, Taylor Browning, is not the murdering type. Those green eyes of hers can sparkle or spark.About the only non-suspect is Taylor’s Abyssinian cat, Oscar, who manages to get in enough trouble on the domestic front. Feline royalty expects to dine on schedule and penalties can be quite severe when expectations are not met.Taylor’s new hobby appears to be amateur sleuthing until she discovers her own life is in danger. One thing is certain. She can’t edit her way out of this one!

Book Publishing is Murder!

Mystery editor Taylor Browning is back with her cats and this time the “cantankerous cat” Oscar and new brother Cheddar get in on the action.

The president of the Santa Fe Wine and Crime book club takes a wrong turn. To her horror she finds herself on one of the most deadly roads in the area. She doesn’t make her meeting and no one knows what has happened to her.

Taylor, an honorary member of the book club, becomes involved with the search for the club president. What she doesn’t expect is going undercover as a delivery driver involved in chile trafficking. This is complicated by the disappearance of the restaurateur who uses the Mayan Death Pepper in his dishes.

Meanwhile back at the book publishing office, it’s one crisis after another. One employee is fired by the highly flammable CEO Jessica Endicott. Her departure leaves the publisher in financial trouble threatening its very existence.

When Taylor and friend Jim Wells find themselves in jeopardy in the Pecos Wilderness, it’s difficult to know who to trust. Det.Victor Sanchez races against time to rescue the two but there are jurisdiction issues. Can he uncover the mastermind before Taylor and Jim pay the price for their interference or will other forces step in?

This is a fun romp through New Mexico, its chile culture and the world of book publishing.

Stay up late reading mysteries by GG Collins, finalist in the New Mexico Book Awards, reviewed by "Publisher’s Weekly" and added to the reading list at "Strand Magazine."

She enjoys the Southwest with a special interest in the Native tribes of the Four Corners. Their ways and beliefs add depth and color to her stories, as does the landscapes of the Land of Enchantment. When asked where she gets her ideas she says, “Everywhere!” But just so you know, she watches "Terror in the Woods," "Medium" reruns and was a "Supernatural" fan.

Collins writes two mystery series including Rachel Blackstone Paranormal Mysteries and the Taylor Browning Cozy Mysteries. Rachel walks a beat in Santa Fe, New Mexico reporting stories of the quick. Off hours, she solves supernatural mysteries that take her to uncanny places and times. She is the Reluctant Medium with the new age friend, a white spirit wolf and a psychic cat named Chile Pod, named after the New Mexico chile.

Taylor Browning is the mystery editor at a small publishing house in Santa Fe. The problem is, she can’t seem to stay in the office, preferring to solve mysteries that frequently entangle her job with murder. Her two cats, Oscar and Cheddar, can be helpful in mysterious ways. Oscar has an artistic temperament and is known to savage paper towels while Cheddar has the brave heart.

She lives with a man and four psychic cats.

Find her at https://reluctantmediumatlarge.com/ where she writes about the Southwest, writing and the off beat. Or find her at Amazon, Goodreads, Blue Sky or Twitter (@GGCollins1).
