Annual renewable capacity additions have increased notably over the past 25 years, reaching an unprecedented peak of 693 GW in 2025. This positive trend in installed capacity confirms that renewable deployment continues to outpace fossil-fuel growth. 👉bit.ly/4fxA0ci

Climate change is already affecting our lives... and ⚽️ is no exception. 14 of 16 #WorldCup2026 host stadiums already face multiple major climate hazards, including extreme heat, heavy rainfall and flooding. The good news? The solutions already exist 👇

US cities hosting #WorldCup matches are twice as likely to see extreme heat & storms than in 1994, and we’re seeing that play out. That’s climate change - driven by burning massive amounts of coal, oil and gas. The solutions already exist: clean energy and building resilience.

The annual #SDGReport makes two things unmistakably clear: the Sustainable Development Goals work. They are delivering for people — but not fast enough, not evenly and not without setbacks.   They are still within reach, but only if we act with greater urgency, solidarity and

New @IRENA report: Over 90% of the utility-scale renewable capacity added in 2025 was cheaper than the lowest-cost new fossil alternative. In total, installed renewables helped avoid an estimated USD 480 billion in fossil-fuel costs in 2025. ➡️irena.org/Publications/2…

Europe’s savage heatwave has the fingerprints of the climate crisis all over it. Until humanity stops burning coal, oil and gas, extreme heat will keep getting worse. The solutions are clear: a faster shift to renewables, protecting forests and boosting climate resilience.

Clean energy is the fastest route to energy security, sovereignty and affordability for all. The current fossil fuel cost crisis has made that painfully clear. The shift is unstoppable – but it must be just and global. More: bit.ly/4wqgG6D

Our Yearly Offer of Action was built around a simple principle: climate progress is measured by what we deliver. At #LCAW26, @UNFCCC Executive Secretary @simonstiell highlighted its importance, as more mayors join the initiative.
A promotional graphic featuring a quote on climate action from Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC, alongside a portrait photo of him against a colorful London cityscape background. “Subnational governments are demonstrating how climate ambition can be translated into tangible results for people and communities. This kind of collective yearly implementation across all levels of government is essential to bolstering climate action and achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement.”

Methane drives around 1/3 of global warming and is 80 times more powerful than CO2. But aggressive cuts could deliver visible temperature benefits within a generation. That's why I’m launching a global call to cut methane emissions – in waste, agriculture & fossil fuels. This
