I love that picture ; Miss is stunningly beautiful of course, but with a look of determination that tells me that my wrongdoing will be punished. I would have no doubt that I was going to get the cane and that it would be a proper old-fashioned "good hiding"

I think this sums up the very essence of sane and sensible corporal punishment- those of us fortunate enough to have a mentor and disciplinarian who really cares must expect to be caned from time to time; because she does care and knows when a little pain is necessary?
Throughout your caning you will take comfort in the knowledge that although the sensation is intense it is administered with kindness, control and compassion. You are never in any danger.
