Well this is just false. A superintendent can only recommend termination to the board, during a board meeting. An employee is entitled by law to a due process hearing, no matter how egregious the situation is and how obvious the cause for termination is. With the timelines 1/3

.@BixbyPSSupt continues to promote a culture of complacency by not firing the principal. If he won’t step up to protect kids then I’ll do his job for him. The principal will never be allowed to teach kids in Oklahoma. We are revoking his certificate.

Actually, big guy, OMES populates those form fields with options, not OSDE. Last I checked, OMES falls under the supervision of [checks notes] @GovStitt. You might want to learn this basic stuff about how government works, since you allegedly are a government teacher. #oklaed

Hofmeister is asking pre-k kids if they are non binary. This is unacceptable and must stop immediately. I’m demanding Hofmeister and Board of Education make all department policies reflect the two God created genders. foxnews.com/politics/oklah…

This actually makes me like @joy4ok even more! Having the support of the tribes is a good thing. Whether it's education, health care, or public safety, they are great partners in our communities. Acting differently is one of the least Oklahoman things you could do! #oklaed

Ryan Walters just said he wants the history of the Tulsa Race Massacre to be taught in public schools but objects to the teaching that the event happened “because of the color of people’s skin.”

Imagine receiving a big bonus. You pay off debt or use it as a down payment on a house or a car. Months later, you’re told you have to pay it back, including thousands of dollars in taxes you never even had. These teachers are living that nightmare. ow.ly/YJuN50QumQX

This is disgustingly callous. Just because the governor’s team botched the use of federal funds in the past doesn’t mean they shouldn’t use every tool available to help people now. #NotTopTen

“Gov. Kevin Stitt's office cited uncertainty about how the federal government will administer the program.” (The state just launched a $150 million private school tax credit program whose rules and statutes were filled with uncertainty. It paid an outside vendor $4 million.)
State to opt out of food program
Federal initiative offers assistance in summer
Dale Denwalt
The Oklahoman
USA TODAY NETWORK
Despite one of every five Oklahoma children living through food insecurity, the state won't participate in a new federal summer food program for children.
Gov. Kevin Stitt's office cited uncertainty about how the federal government will administer the program.
The Summer EBT program would have doled out $40 per month this summer for children who get free or reduced price meals during the school year.
Families would be able to purchase groceries using an electronic benefits transfer, or EBT card. It's similar to the pandemic-era children's food program that recently expired, which gave eligible families $120 per child to buy food during summer months.

Our district has been providing them free to students for a few years now with no pushback. A faith-based hospital helped us with the startup costs for dispensers. It's a good thing we should have done much sooner. Why is this controversial?

For 32 out of 52 indicators, OSDE has required corrective action. It's hard to fathom. #oklaed

🚩Some red flags (or rather dots) on the State Department of Ed review. Out of around 50 indicators, OSDE has action required on 32 federal funding items including: -internal controls -audits -state accountability -charter school oversight -records/info

Similarly, the state superintendent can't unilaterally revoke a certificate. When you say "we are revoking," you mean your board. I have little doubt they will agree with your recommendation, but you are still following a process yourself. 3/3
