The latest episode of our Sky Tour Astronomy podcast is out now! This month’s episode highlights the bright star Spica, now prominent high in the southwest after twilight. It’s leading the parade of constellations, along with Venus. Sponsored by @Celestron buff.ly/ifpW8fP

JWST images of early galaxies have turned up a population of flat, red, extended disks that may have been entirely missed by previous surveys. @AASNova buff.ly/43lh3R8

Venus passes its closest to Pollux tonight and tomorrow. They're 4° apart, with Pollux to Venus's upper right. Bright Arcturus shines high overhead toward the south these evenings. The kite shape of Bootes, its constellation, extends up from Arcturus. buff.ly/43uTLZ4

Leo the Lion is mostly a constellation of late winter and spring. But he's not gone yet. As twilight ends look upper left of Venus and Mars for Regulus, Leo's lowest star: the forefoot of the Lion. The Sickle of Leo extends upper right from Regulus. buff.ly/42N6dCR

A supergiant star exploded as a supernova in the prominent galaxy M101 in Ursa Major. It’s now bright enough to see in a 4.5-inch telescope! @AstroBob_bk buff.ly/3okI2O3

Forget the hype and go outside to enjoy the real thing — a relatively bright comet you can see in binoculars from a dark sky. @AstroBob_bk buff.ly/3wabVB2

The sky highlight of the week is Venus and Mars in the west in late twilight, especially with the Moon joining them on Wednesday. After dark look south-southeast for orange Antares, "the Betelgeuse of summer." Both are 1st-magnitude "red" supergiants. buff.ly/42N6dCR

Pollux, one of the Twins in the sky, is a star that has swelled into its red giant phase while holding onto its Jupiter-like exoplanet, dubbed Thestias. buff.ly/3L43gpd

Venus has slowed its approach to Mars, will stop in a couple weeks, and then will turn around and run away from it. Spica is straight below Arcturus after dark. Half as far to Spica's lower right is the four-star pattern of Corvus, the springtime Crow. buff.ly/45XpVyo
