This list of reasons for admission into the West Virginia Hospital for the Insane was compiled from the hospital's log books between 1864 and 1889. Looks like we'd all be considered insane over here.
A visitor on campus stopped to admire the new Hemingway Hall.
"How great that they named a building after Ernest Hemingway," the visitor said.
"Actually," the guide said, "it's named after Joshua Hemingway. Also a writer, but no relation."
"What did he write?"
"A check."
