Centrifuge Storage Building

Urenco USA is constructing a Centrifuge Storage Building to support the company’s upcoming refurbishment program and ongoing capacity expansion. Construction is scheduled for completion in early 2027 to support the first cascade refurbishments at the site.

New Enrichment Capacity

Urenco USA’s newest gas centrifuge cascade began production of low enriched uranium on June 22, 2026, continuing the company’s successful track record of bringing new cascades online ahead of schedule and on budget. The new cascade is part of the current capacity program at the facility to install 700,000 separative work units (SWU) of enrichment capacity over a two-year period. Three more cascades will be installed by early 2027.

Significant Future Expansion

Urenco USA will significantly expand its facility by up to 2.1 million SWU through the construction of a new process building (rendering pictured) and the installation of up to 24 cascades of new capacity. This multi-year expansion reflects a long-term commitment to supporting a secure, reliable nuclear fuel supply for Urenco’s customers in the United States and around the world and reflects the trust Urenco’s customers have placed in the company to deliver the fuel needed to power nuclear energy for decades to come.
