Yowza. It’s been a minute. Have to relearn how to do this, For anyone stumbling on this by accident (and how did that happen?) the 24 Hour Readathon was developed by someone called Dewey years ago. She had already passed away when I found it fewer, buy still quite a few years ago. I am under the impression that it peaked some years ago, but it still goes on every April and October, but then in July, to even things out for people who don’t liek the regular time to read 12 hours earlier. For me that means 8:00 PM Friday night. I like this time very much. I’m not a morning person and I’m too old to stay up 24 hours. So I stay up as late as I can and then rejoin when I wake up. It used to also be about snacks, but I can’t have those anymore. Sigh. I am reading :
Enemy of All Mankind: A True Story of Piracy, Power, and History’s First Global Manhunt
A friend reads a pirate book every summer and I thought that was a good idea. The Kindle edition is at this moment on sale at Amazon for $2. This is the same Steven Johnson who wrote The Ghost Map. A darned good book, so I’m excited about this.

I swear I’m the slowest reader in all creation. I’m not even going to tell you how little progress I made before getting distracted. Maybe going to switch to Colin Watson’s One Man’s Meat, the 9th Flaxborogh mystery. Mostly a witty, lighthearted series set in a smallish town in England taking place in the 60s and 70s when they were written. There are only 12 of them , so I’ll soon be done with them, sadly. It’s 1:00 AM so I’m going to bed and will read until I fall asleep or reach 8:00 PM (Ha!)
