EPG Establishes Standardized AutoStore Integration as an Industry Solution

Automation has become one of the defining technologies shaping the future of logistics. Shorter delivery expectations, expanding product assortments, and rising warehouse space costs are driving demand for highly compact and dynamic fulfillment systems. Among these, AutoStore has emerged as one of the most widely adopted cube storage solutions, known for maximizing storage density while enabling high-performance order fulfillment. Demand continues to grow across industries, particularly in e-commerce, fashion, and spare parts logistics. Early on, EPG (Ehrhardt Partner Group) recognized this potential and invested in developing a standardized interface between AutoStore and its Warehouse Management System (WMS), LFS. Denner Independently Rolls Out LFS and LYDIA Voice at New Fresh Food Facility

Denner, Switzerland’s leading food discount retailer, has successfully gone live with the LFS Warehouse Management System and LYDIA Voice, the voice-directed picking solution from EPG (Ehrhardt Partner Group), at its new fresh food distribution center in Mägenwil. A key distinguishing feature of the project was Denner’s ability to carry out the implementation largely independently. Thanks to many years of experience with LFS and LYDIA Voice, combined with close support from EPG, the company was able to efficiently and seamlessly transfer the established processes from its six existing sites in Schmitten, Frauenfeld, Lyss, Dietlikon, and an adjacent warehouse in Mägenwil to the new facility.

In online grocery retail, on-time deliveries are far more than a service promise. Consistently meeting committed delivery windows has a direct impact on customer satisfaction and, ultimately, on business performance. At the same time, narrow delivery windows, growing order volumes, and increasing traffic congestion are making route planning more challenging than ever. To address these challenges, Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo transformed its e-commerce logistics operations with Greenplan, EPG’s intelligent route planning and optimization solution. The results include improved delivery reliability, higher productivity, and a significant reduction in fleet requirements.

Germany’s Largest Grocery Retailer Turns to LYDIA Voice

When Germany’s largest grocery retailer reevaluates its entire order-picking technology, it’s about more than just optimization — it’s about long-term strategic viability. EDEKA recognized early on that its existing pick-by-voice system could no longer meet the growing demands for efficiency, ergonomics, and cost-effectiveness. The requirements for a new system were clear: it needed to be more powerful, more flexible, and more economically attractive — all while integrating seamlessly into existing operations. Following a brief but intensive testing phase, the decision was clear: EPG (Ehrhardt Partner Group) won out across the board with LYDIA Voice. The solution not only met all technical and economic criteria, but also enabled a smooth, phased transition by allowing parallel operation with the legacy system. This approach allowed approximately 10,000 users across 33 locations to become familiar with the new technology without any loss in productivity. The rollout was carried out gradually across regional distribution centers.

Jumbo Boosts Productivity & On-Time Performance with EPG’s Greenplan

Jumbo is one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands, serving customers through both physical stores and a rapidly growing e-commerce grocery delivery network. As Jumbo’s home delivery business expanded to over 600 vehicles, maintaining punctual deliveries became increasingly difficult. Despite using established route planning software alongside a TMS, deliveries frequently missed their promised time slots, directly impacting customer satisfaction.

After a competitive tender involving eight providers and an extensive proof of concept, Jumbo selected Greenplan to fix the problem with its unique approach to route optimization. Using predictive traffic times based on time-of-day patterns, Jumbo was able to improve on-time performance from 91% to 96%.
