Whether it's barley, corn, wheat, rye, rice, or a combination, all whiskey is made by fermenting and then distilling some kind of grain. (It's often, but not always, aged afterward in wooden barrels.)What differentiates one kind of whiskey from another is the kind of grains used, the specific location or region of production, and how it is aged.
