No Gatekeeping: How to Find the Best Amazon Prime Deals, According to an InStyle Shopping Writer

Welcome to the Amazon Prime Day 2026 madness! The sale event has completely taken over the InStyle team, and even though I’m not a big Amazon shopper myself, I am big on getting a good deal. In my opinion, the most effective way to shop the sale and get the best deals possible is to not let the big ticket discounts or overwhelming amount of markdowns get the best of you (even though they are really good). Instead, you can just scroll through our highly curated how-to guide to find the good stuff, without all the fuss. 

My approach to the sale is to use it as a way to stock up on my favorite products—or finally pull the trigger on something I’ve been wanting to try. For example, I’m finally ready to purchase the practical Waterpik on sale for 50-percent off, and I’ll always take a re-stock on my favorite K-Beauty PDRN masks. What Is Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is an annual sales event that features deals across fashion, beauty, tech, home, and more that’s exclusive to Prime members. You can score deals on major brands like Levi’s and Adidas, stock up on go-to beauty products from Medicube and L’Oreal, and get pricey tech and home finds like Apple Airpods and Dyson vacuums for way less than normal.

How Long Does Prime Day Last?

This year’s Amazon Prime Day will last four days, taking place from June 23 through Friday, June 26. Oftentimes, prices fluctuate and items will sell out, so if you see a good deal, my advice is to grab it right away. It might not be there the next day.

Do You Have to Be a Prime Member to Access Deals?

Yes, only Prime Members have access to the deals listed. However, you can sign up for a 30 day free trial to skirt around the rules and simply cancel your membership when it ends. Or, you can keep it and save on deals year-round, have access to quick two-day shipping, and all the other perks that make the annual fee worth it.

How Do I Know If I’m Getting the Best Deal?

Underneath the 5-star review symbol and to the right of the sale price is a “Price History” button. After clicking on it, a pop-up to the left of your screen will show you a year’s worth of price history for the product. Another way to check the sale is by looking directly at the brand’s website or checking different retailers to see if they are offering a competing price.

Yes! During Prime Week other retailers and brands—some of our favorites being Nordstrom, J.Crew, and Madewell, for example—will host their own version of a summer sale.
