Rhode’s Tinted Serum Is the Only Way I’ve Achieved Hailey Bieber’s Famous “Glazed” Skin IRL

It’s the only makeup I want to wear this summer.

Twin Peaks’s Agent Dale Cooper famously said, “Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen.” I have not gotten to a daily cadence yet, but I have been treating myself to little acts of kindness when I can. A couple of days a week, this translates to spending hours watching makeup tutorials while applying a full beat (i.e., 12 products). I have, however, gotten too used to this lifestyle; it’s making me very late to all my summer plans, and all those layers are cumbersome in the oppressive summer heat. I have been looking for alternatives that will streamline my routine, make my skin glow, and survive the 67 percent humidity. Are we the least bit surprised that Hailey Bieber created a solution with Rhode’s new Highlight Milk Tinted Serum

If you’re a fan of Rhode’s Glazing Milk Ceramide Toner Essence, then you’ll love the highlighter version. It feels like a mixture of that and the Supergoop skin tint Christie Brinkley loves. The base of the formula has all of the good stuff from Glazing Milk: a time-rewinding and plumping peptide trio, hydrating vitamin E, and smoothing glycerin. It builds on that with one of four sheer pearlescent shades: Pearly Pink, Pearly Champagne, Pearly Warm Bronze (my go-to), and Pearly Rich Bronze. The viscosity is relatively thicker, which is necessary to keep the pigment from running or becoming patchy. That being said, this is still very lightweight—it feels heavier than essence but lighter than a moisturizer.

I have been using Highlight Milk Tinted Serum in four ways. The first, and the one I love the most, is on a bare face, in place of any complexion makeup. I do my entire skin care routine, save for moisturizer (it does that job, too), and apply this all over. I shake the bottle, pour it onto my fingertips, and apply it from my head down to my décolletage. It restores radiance, hydrates, soothes, and minimally (yet noticeably) camouflages imperfections. If I want to zhuzh things up a little bit, I’ll apply concealer where needed. The second way I use it is under foundation for a priming, lit-from-within glow. Third is on top of makeup as a regular highlighter, and fourth is on my shoulders and gams to complement my summer outfits.

Like every Rhode product, the Highlight Milk Tinted Serum is incredibly popular and selling out fast—two of the shades are already out of stock on its website. Thankfully, my go-to is still available at both Rhode and Sephora. Below, shop more of Rhode’s best-sellers to complete your summer glam.
