Sling TV LLC
Streaming was supposed to free people from long contracts and bulky bundles. But over time, many viewers ended up right back where they started, paying monthly bills when they only wanted to watch once in a while.
Passes by Sling TV are built to change that. Instead of a subscription that runs month to month, you can buy short bursts of access that line up with how you actually watch. The $45.99 monthly plan is still there for regular users, but passes let you dip in for a week, a weekend, or even just a single day.
The idea is about putting control back in the hands of the fans: The new options make it easier to jump in for a college football game or a random movie night without feeling like you’re committing to yet another recurring payment.
The Different Pass Options
Passes are available in three lengths and are all tied to the Sling Orange lineup of channels. That package includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, TNT, A&E, TBS, Disney Channel, Comedy Central, History Channel, CNN, and more. Each pass unlocks both live and on-demand programming for the length you choose.
These new, shorter options keep the essentials of Sling but shrink the timeline so you pay only for what you really want:
- Day Pass ($4.99): 24 hours of service
- Weekend Pass ($9.99): Friday through Sunday
- Week Pass ($14.99): A full seven days
When Passes Makes Sense
Passes are made for the times when a full month just doesn’t make sense for you. Sling’s Day Pass can cover a college football game, but it also works for smaller needs like catching a season premiere or keeping the kids entertained on a rainy afternoon. When all you want is to enjoy a single event, a Day Pass is the perfect solution.
A Weekend Pass runs Friday through Sunday. It’s a great choice for following both days of a playoff round or settling in with a miniseries. It also works well for a weekend of mixing live events with family movies in one go.
A Week Pass stretches for seven days, enough to line up with vacations or sports schedules. It’s handy when you want TV in the background during a trip, or when you need time to binge through an entire season of a show before the spoilers start flying. For most households, a week is plenty of time to get the coverage they want without the weight of a monthly bill.
Adding Sling Extras
Passes can also be customized with Sling Extras. These are themed channel packs that expand the core lineup with options like Sports Extra, News Extra, Entertainment Extra, Hollywood Extra, and Kids Extra.
The cost depends on the pass length: $1 with a Day Pass, $2 with a Weekend Pass, and $3 with a Week Pass. That pricing makes it simple to tailor short-term access; add Sports Extra for game day, or Kids Extra for a birthday weekend sleepover.
By keeping Extras proportional to the pass length, Sling makes it possible to build the right lineup for you, even when you only plan to stream for a short time.
